This requires ignoring the moment were he got recentered on his feet. I believe he could have easily stood back up at that point if he had wanted to. He could have also made a lunge for the ball, but I think he could tell he was unlikely to reach it. So instead he ducked his head and threw his weight into Gobert's shin.
