Gobert out for 4-6 weeks

I agree that CLE is a potential landing spot for Favs. What are some other teams that should be in the market?
I think Portland could be interested. They could play Favs at B/U C behind Nurkic and that would give them solid C minutes all game long. If the Jazz took back long term salary then I'm sure they would get a late first back.

Would anyone stealth tank and trade Rubio to Denver for their 2017 1st and Faried? Rubio doesn't play winning ball and that could end up being a lottery pick.

Then, also try to trade Favors, Hood and Burks. We may be able to get a late 1st for Faves from someone looking to make a run. In the off-season, sign a steady backup point in case Exum struggles. Otherwise, give him the ****ing keys.

Exum--steady vet
Mitchell
Ingles-Sefalosha-Our 1st-Denver 1st
Our 1st/Denver 1st-Jerebko-Faried
Gobert-Udoh-Bradley

The Nuggets werent trading for Bledose, why would they trade for a worse fit in Rubio?

I'd try to move AB with favors... I don't think we are getting a first for him

I think we are stuck with Ricky... he's just not a great fit.

It would never happen, but i'd love a trade that sent Favors, JoeJ and a pick to the Cavs for Love. The salaries match and it would give them defense/quality big men for another run at GSW + expiring contracts (in case they fail and LBJ bolts). Not to mention JJ is experienced and as clutch as they come in the playoffs. It helps us because Love is still a stud who could be our #1 option and pairs well with Rudy.

Wishful thinking..

Donovan is and will always be our #1 option, for the next 15 years.

I think there might be more of a market for Rubio than for Favors. Denver doesn't seem like a bad fit as already mentioned, but there's also the Pacers. Maybe the Bulls? Maybe the Pistons with Bullock (ehh)?

If we are trading with Denver I want....what am I saying? Denver fans would skin the GM if he trades with Utah again. Gobert and Mitchell is a hard memory.

No way the Jazz make Rudy sit if he’s healthy. It’s not in any of their DNA. Closest the Jazz will get to tanking is playing their young guns more minutes than they deserve to see how they respond. So far, the results are mixed.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Mitchell, Hood and Bradley logging good minutes in expanded roles for the next month. Too bad Exum is out. This is exactly where we’d learn how far his development has come.

Gotta spread the rep.

Someone needs to clobber, I mean completely obliterate, Waiters the next time the Jazz play the Heat. Sign some scurb to a 10 day contract and pay him a bounty or something.

Just have jingles punch him in the nuts

Him or Gobert have to go, I've seen enough. One is an All-NBA player under contract and the other is Derrick Favors.
Agree.

Injury to Gobert may be the best thing to happen to Jazz this season.

1. They were going to lose a lot come December (brutal schedule). Shouldn't affect the outcomes much - only the point spreads.
2. Well under .500 at year-end means trades are more likely and DL won't have to worry about appeasing fans who want to see Jazz try to get the 8th seed.
3. Favors will have ample opportunity to make the most of his contract year - and increase his trade value.
4. Floor spacing may be better with a 5 who is a threat offensively.
-a. Better looks for Hood (who also increases his trade value)
-b. More natural offense for Rubio
5. Increased playing time for Sefolosha, who might play himself into being a trading chip.
6. Better chance for Jazz to be in the top-10 of the lottery.

In a way this is a huge blessing in disguise.
This is the best chance Favors has to show everyone that he is a legit two-way number 5.

This could get really interesting....
