What's new

Saw this elsewhere. Think Betrayward knew he was leaving?

I think The Jazz made the Rubio move because they thought Hayward might be leaving.

No sense bringing back Hill for 60mil on a 40 win team when they can have Rubio for less than half that and a 35 win team.

Nope. Rubio only works with Benedict there. Otherwise it was always going to be the **** show we see now.

For some reason I'm reminded of this woman I once worked with. Her husband straight left her high and dry. Total dick move. And she would not shut up about it. All the damn time. Some grown woman processing all the clues she missed with a bunch of college kids. Like, "once I asked him about going to my parents for the weekend and he hesitated for a split second. Do you think he was already cheating on me?!?!?" I was like, hey lady, I'm 18 and I don't think I'm equipped to unpack all this with you at the moment.

Don't know why I'm remembering this now. Just thought I'd share. Probably has nothing to do with anything happening on the board.

It was reported that Hayward asked for a trade in summer of 2016 to Boston.

The Jazz were stupid. They should have tried to get picks from Boston for Hayward.

Yeah, but Hayward also bought a new house in Utah that same summer (the one he sold). So if the whole housing market is really swaying you, then you should think Hayward though he was staying last year.

I hope the crowd is silent if ever he has the ball in Utah in the future, literally no noise.

On a side note, my brother in law who is a big Celtics fan, just arrived from Puerto Rico to spend thanksgiving with me and my wife. When he entered the guest bedroom there was a large photo of Hayward grimacing in pain with his broken foot. Also I taped the same photo to the bottle of Don Q rum we bought for my brother in law. One must enjoy life.

Tie him up and pry his eyelids open like in A Clockwork Orange and make him watch his injury on an endless loop while you're at it.

Candrew, that was a great film, but nah, I can’t do that to my brother in law, my wife would be quite upset.

But I'd argue that the Hayward who got the max offer certainly wasn't. We waited a long time on Hayward.

People forget... many thought Gordon was a super role player who got more stats on a bad team.

That is part of why I felt a little burned too... I'm not sure he becomes what he did without our help. I know he worked his *** off, but it sucks to see him go from Opie to Captain America and bail on us. Robert Covington just signed the extension and talked glowingly about Philly and the development he made there and just wanted to see it through. They put him through a ton of losing and he still wanted to see it through... just wish Gordo had the same resolve.

I'm over it now... will boo the hell out of him, but I understand his decision. Life goes on.

To me Hayward has always come through as an entitled, cold-hearted, non-passionate human being that just happens to play basketball very good. The way his departure came down does not surprise me.
