Love Mitchell, but Hayward was vastly better in his 7th year than rookie Mitchell.
I compared rookie to rookie and then said he's not too far behind (acknowledging Hayward is currently better) as it stands.

I think The Jazz made the Rubio move because they thought Hayward might be leaving.
No sense bringing back Hill for 60mil on a 40 win team when they can have Rubio for less than half that and a 35 win team.
It was reported that Hayward asked for a trade in summer of 2016 to Boston.
The Jazz were stupid. They should have tried to get picks from Boston for Hayward.
It was a bluff then by Hayward.Yeah, but Hayward also bought a new house in Utah that same summer (the one he sold). So if the whole housing market is really swaying you, then you should think Hayward though he was staying last year.
Thats just stupid.
On a side note, my brother in law who is a big Celtics fan, just arrived from Puerto Rico to spend thanksgiving with me and my wife. When he entered the guest bedroom there was a large photo of Hayward grimacing in pain with his broken foot. Also I taped the same photo to the bottle of Don Q rum we bought for my brother in law. One must enjoy life.
But I'd argue that the Hayward who got the max offer certainly wasn't. We waited a long time on Hayward.Love Mitchell, but Hayward was vastly better in his 7th year than rookie Mitchell.
