He was paid as a professional. Chump change in the form of amenities ($30k in hotel rooms, per diems, travel cost, etc) necessary to survive, basically, if I remember right.
His dad is actually a stem cell research doctor, which makes it even funnier/sadder.

The guys evaluating draft picks have forgotten more about basketball than most of us will ever know...and they still make huge mistakes. The draft is a crap shoot. The only certainty is that the hardest working players usually have pertty good careers (Millsap, Matthews, etc.). So when in doubt, I'd take the guy who is giving 100% in all his workouts. Snyder and Humphries had great potential; look where that got the Jazz. Same with Fes, but no work ethic.
That's one of the reasons I'd take a serious look at Singletion at #12. It takes effort and attitude to play defense. Most guys only want to score and make the highlights.

Nope wont waste my time he is complete crAp. Also drafting him would mean more of you and quite frankly i have had enough.
Some great points here GlassEater. I wouldn't be sad at all to get Singleton at 12. And you point about working hard is a good one. Knight is known to have an incredible work ethic. It's still not known if Kanter is in the Milsap work hard or the Fes work hard camp. (those are the extreem examples of course)

So what exactly has Knight proven?
I think if anything, Knight's freshmen year in college provided us with more doubts and concerns than answers and confidence.
He still lacks PG skills, quickness, and good shot selection. Lets NOT just draft an athlete and hope he ends up being the PG we need. He's a lot less Rose and DWill and a lot more Larry Hughes/Monta Ellis.

Whether or not his game and athleticism translates in the NBA remains to be seen. But c'mon guys, Kanter didn't develop this incredible offensive game by just jackpotting around.
i cant see any problem him guarding them .At least he has the fundamentals and phsyic to do that. Not everyone is supposed to be athletic like dwight howard to be a decent defender.
its my opinion that williams will crash. I dont know of any good player playing SF with his body type. He can be a good player, maybe he can be an allstar. but come on, he isnt that good. I wouldnt even compare him with enes and irving in terms of ceiling
