What's new

For everyone interested in knowing Enes better in terms of basketball (except nike summits)

No of course you cant see any problem becuae you think kanter is flawless! I mean wtf??????!!!???

Yes. And lets just ignore Knight's 3+ turnovers per game because we all know Kanter sucks. Knight is the next Drose because they were coached by the same guy. Knight is flawless. And Harris sucks. So does Earl Watson. And no draft ever produces good point guards. And all of our big men are all stars and big men are always found even late in the 1st round.

At least knight has stats to speak of! This kanter is nonsense. Dude is hiding something. He will more than likely drop like a rock if he does not put himself out there to be evaluated.

And he will. He's one of the many foreigners that will be evaluated.

Would anyone care about Kanter if this draft was stronger - Barnes & Sullinger were still in it?

He's too big of a unknown at this point, apparently we already worked him out and KOC still has Brandon Knight as his guy.

Yes, Sullinger and Barnes were at the Summit to, same size they are now, and Kanter dominated them.

The thing i dont understand is why we compare knight to kanter? I understand williams -kanter debate, but knight was supposed to be a maximum 10th pick 1-2 months ago. And now we will pick him 3?
I would like it if we had 6,7th pick but now we have to see things more clear. If we wanna be contender we gotta take risk. And i dont believe williams has as much capacity as to be a pierce or carmelo in future . I dont care about next yr, we will make playoffs and lose in the first round, but if we create a good young core, we can be a contender. And if hayward and favors are the main guys for our young core, enes will be a better option than derrick williams. Saying we have too many big man already is not an excuse not to draft a guy with better potential. Everyone is expandable in the league, and utah proved that to the world with Deron williams trade, which im sure everyone is happy about this trade right now.
So i think we must focus more about a 4-5 yrs plan instead of what we are gonna do next year if we have 4-5 big man in the team.

Did anyone notice that Kanter means "blood and sweat" in Turkish, a phrase which means very hard work(er). Interesting...

Can you please find another team to be a fan of and take your kanter banter with you over there?

i just wonder after 1-2 yrs... after enes will prove to be a superstar

superstar? on this Jazz team? you're saying that he will be better than Memo, Millsap, Jefferson (who is under contract for 2 more years), AND Favors (3+ more years)?

come on. Kanter looks like the next coming of Koufos to me.

Dominated Barnes? Please. Will he dominate the next Earl Boykins too? Kanter was guarded mainly by Meyers Leonard in the '10 NHS. Leonard was 7' and looked about 160 lbs. Enes "The Istanbull" Kanter simply pushed Leonard aside, as he should have.

i think he is in the millsap work hard
if u ask why, i tell u ;
if a guy rejected a really astronomical deal at the age of 16, (which would attach him to Fenerbahce, his team in turkey, for 5 yrs) and if he went all the way down to us, to participate in ncaa knowing he will probably be ineligible, but still trying his small chance because he set his goal to nba, then i believe he would work really hard to make his mark in nba.

I've been highly critical of Kanter but I'll give you this. There is nothing to indicate the kid doesn't work hard. He has a solid figure and a soft shot. This tells us he's willing to do what it takes, if it says anything at all. Also, thanks for the background on passing up a contract. How "astronomical" exactly was it?

here's another guy who works hard:

Fitness plays a part too, even for a workaholic like...

"I wanted to come in this summer, and then training camp, and be in the best shape I've been in."

He has great touch around the basket...

He is an excellent free throw shooter, can hit the three ball, and has a nice midrange jumper Hes got great hands, decent post moves, and a consistent touch around the basket as well...

What's your point? Don't work hard? If you work hard you'll end up like Koufus? Eat donuts all day? What?

the point is: just because a player works hard and has a soft shot it doesn't mean he's going to be any good (see: Doufos).

there is a chance Kanter will turn out to be a good NBA player. other guys in this draft, like Williams, have put up real numbers/results (30 PER) against real competition in real games (several seasons in the PAC-10). it seems crazy to me to rate an unknown like Kanter ahead of someone else who has already really done something.

anyway, i think i'm preaching to the choir here (sepanol and underKANTER excluded).

Sure, but I was going back to Ben10's comment that Kanter's work ethic is unknown. I don't think it should be a question mark at this point. I have plenty other reasons for not wanting him on the Jazz though.

You're not preaching to the choir. There was nothing but giddiness over Kanter 2 days ago, and we're still in the minority.

It's all good. Maybe sepanol (and underKANTER) are this year's equivalent of Honzward. We were all hating on Gordon Hayward a year ago - except Honzward. And it certainly looks like we were dead wrong. I'm not counting on Memo playing much next season...coming back from a terrible injury and with a history of back problems. Jazz would have room for Kanter: Memo replaces Fes and Kanter takes Elson's roster spot. Also, injuries happen during the year and Kanter and Favors will probably both have foul trouble. Count on Jefferson for 35 mins, Millsap for 30 , Favors at 20-25 and Kanter at 10-15 as a rookie. If Millsap plays half his minutes at SF, that still leaves 15 for Memo (assuming all are healthy for all 82 games, which won't be the case).

I'm gonna trust KOC on this one. He was right about Deron, was trying to trade up for Favors and when he couldn't (fortunately?), picked a keeper in Hayward. If he takes Knight over Kanter, I'll support the pick. If Kanter or Williams are there at #3 and he takes either, I'll be happy. And if he then takes Singleton, Jimmer, Burks or some other player at #12, I'll be happy with that pick.

Exactly, and that's what people are underestimating Kanter on. They guy may not be 7' but will come into the league at 260 lbs at just 18. Few big men have the frame to even get to that weight without losing all their athleticism. Combine that with his elite footwork and Okur like shooting and you have mad potential there.
