Following Potential 2018 Draftees

-Keeping up with my theme of "SF's who will be better than Hayward" from last year, add Scottie Barnes HS class of 2020 to the list. 6'7" strong build, 7'2"wingspan, plays pg, lotto pick written all over him... Way better prospect than Isaac Bonga.

-Bamba's been spectacular so far IMO. Andrew Jones injury has hurt Texas and that game the other night on TV was a disaster, they lack shooting, Eric Davis needs to wake up.

-Mo will take the Blocks lead from Ajdin Penava so he can enjoy it while he has it. He's too skinny. Lets see what more he can do though, he's young, absolutely no reason for him to declare this year being born in 97... There are low-profile bigs out there that are legit.. The kid on Wofford dominating UNC tonight was one of the best performances.

-Tyus Battle at Syracuse is underrated/underappreciated, someone here should be the official Battle fan it'll pay off.

-Trae Young is out of range. The Suns are going to take him. Anfernee Simons and Landry Shamet are the PG's to fixate on.

-Wendell Carter banging 3's is a game-changer. People here won't wanna talk about it but having him for cheap for 4 years as a Favors replacement could be cost efficient...

-Keep an eye out for Kansas bigs, they have major reinforcements on the way, ones relevant to this thread (De Sousa and Preston). Udoka is also having a tremendous showing this season.

-Doral Moore another massive C I hyped here for years is pretty much unstoppable as well... He's an interesting project, much better than Dakari Johnson -- not even close tbh.

NBAdraft has moved Young up to 5, and bumped Bamba down to 6. At 12 they have us slotted for Wendell Carter, Duke's highly efficient PC/C.
Some things to like about Carter, he's only 18 and a half, and 250+ lbs already. Had a career high 27 points in 18 minutes yesterday, and has been shooting 3s (4-7)

I was tweeting with a Marshall fan and he seemed to think it was a very outside chance. Seemed like his problem is not enough foot quickness to guard on the perimeter and too skinny to be a 5.
Yep, if anything stood out it was his lack of quickness and fluidity. I was hoping I'd see a long SF type because he's so thin but he does move more like a 4 or 5. For a guy who put up 25 and 9 in the game i watched, its weird how unimpressed i was with him.

Having said that, he appears to be a legit 6'10"(listed at 6'9) who can step out, put it on the floor a bit and will rebound and block shots. Also showed some passing ability, nice feel and scored using both hands.

He'll be an interesting guy to keep an eye on througout the season.

Anas Mahmoud is a much better prospect, and he's in the 50-60 range.... I still say Mahmoud is like former Jazz great Jeff Withey, he's even more agile too.

Honestly the kid at BYU Yoeli Childs is probably a better prospect. There's a long list, and i'ma miss many;

Ben Lammers (Georgia Tech)
Abdul Ado (Miss St.)
Tariq Owens (St. Johns)
Matt Haarms (Purdue)
Donta Hall (Alabama)
Ikey Obiagu (FSU)
Ray Spaulding(Louisville)
Jontay Porter(Mizzou)
Bruno Fernando (Maryland)

Some of those players are surefire draftees IMO. Fernando is probablthe one who profiles the closest to that kid, and is way better, tbh.

This is one of those years, like the Gobert situation in 2013, lottery bigs are gonna fall to the 20's........ MITCHELL ROBINSON... Maybe a move like the Kings to trade back for Justin Jackson and their big (Giles) could pay dividends?

Terrance Clarke, who I've brought up here before(when he was ranked 9th or so), is now ranked #1 in his class, actually the 3 kids I hyped in that class are now ranked 1, 2 and 3... but this post is just about Clarke (the #2 player reminds me of Michael Porter Jr.)..

This kid is the greatest Freshman SG prospect I've seen. End of story. He's like Kobe mixed with James Harden.

They used to say this midget PG, Zion Harmon, was far and away the best player in this class, and claimed he's been the #1 ranked since 3rd grade --- I was very early on the nonbelievers of that story, in part because of Clarke...

I'll take him over Luka Doncic.

Tremont Waters would be a legendary 2nd rd pick for the Jazz. Lemme just mail in that pick right now btw. As y'all know I always hated Trey Burke, and I also categorize players as 'flamethrowers', Burke is a great example of the kind I don't like, and Waters is the opposite.

He'd likely be a major crowd favorite off the bench. The key word with his game is Sharpness... I like this kid better than Shabazz Napier who's carved himself a nice lil niche in the league and will play for a while.

For Utah's purposes he's almost on sale. It's perfect he's only 5'10", if he was taller the price would be much higher.

And to be frank, anyone who's enamored with Trae Young should look this way.. He's got insane cardio and just runs nonstop, idk how u could hate on this kid upon close inspection, he's an efficient backup..

Oh also, this is a major sleeper alert, my final one of 2017, on the list of bigs WAY better than the NCAA leader in blocks is 6'9" 240lb freshman at Texas Jericho Sims. The 1st rd hype is very real with him. He's got a manchild build, will fill out to be monstrously powerful and also can get down in a stance defensively and move laterally, and he's got crazy hops....

- This was the #1 play on sportscenter

Just turned 19 2 months ago and he's near Bolomboy at 23 levels of athleticism, better laterally for sure, he's a PF/C, not a 6'9" C/PF....

Keep an eye on Freshman Daniel Gafford at Arkansas too. 6'11" late-blooming raw bigman with tools. The bigs were hyped in this Freshman class and players like these 2 are really fine examples of it. He also just turned 19 in October....

**check this out** Minnesota's C averages 4.5 blocks a game...

Probably 3-4 summers ago I told PKM "Wendell Carter reminds me of Karl Malone"

Seems like a good value pick. Everyone is focusing on Bagley at Duke, but stat wise Carter is almost as good comparing PER and TS%. Sort of like when they had Parker and Hood, and Hood dropped to 18.
