What's new

Would you rather have us in the playoffs or getting better draft picks?

Playoffs or draft glory?

Dirk can’t move. He’s in two cement buckets up to his knees. It almost feels disrespectful to watch.
I’ve heard Rubio specializes in getting concrete on peoples’ feet, maybe he has the ability to help get them out.

Do people have to put a body on your buddy at all times? His defense would be fairly tragic, but not any more so than watching Boris defend the 4/5 in the playoffs, or watch the current iteration of Joe Johnson.

This summer I really wanted Bogut but DL came through strong with Udoh. The rebounding tandem of Lyles/Diaw made the corpse of Bogut look fairly appealing. I’m not sure what options we’ve got at the four next year but I suppose Jerebko would even be passable.
Dirk is at least 10 times worse at defense than last year’s Diaw.

Actually, that’s too conservative

How many putbacks and lobs would DeAndre get over him?

Clear space and bring Lebron and PG next summer. Trade everything but Mitch and Rudy to do it.

Remove where he was drafted and his impressive off-the-bounce speed, and I am not even sure he's an NBA player and the statistics bear that out.

I'm not saying to cut him or anything like that, but I am saying I'm not sure he's even worth his QO.

Stats from when, his 1st year when he was a project and was never supposed to be NBA ready, or from his 2nd year of recovering from injury and getting yanked and benched to keep Hayward happy?

Exum is an NBA player and will likely be signed to a team-friendly, 4 year deal. I'll just pretend the not worth the QO comment never happened.

Not long ago, some fans were talking about salary dumping Alec Burks. Now that we've seen him play in December, that seems kind of silly now. I think the Exum comments will pale in comparison, once things play out.

Exum will be here. They’re not going to give up on him yet and he hasn’t proven enough to get the kind of offer the Jazz won’t match.

Still not 100% sold that trading Burks (for an asset - not a salary dump) isn’t the best thing for the Jazz moving forward. Depends on what they can get for him and whether their plans for upgrading the team are this offseason, or next.

Context is always important, and I understand your position. I just feel like if he was an exceptional talent it would've shined more than it has and I don't think that's unreasonable.

I hope I'm wrong.

I wouldn't get too attached to Dante, as Mitchell will eventually play full time point. That lowers Exum's value to us tremendously. He would now just be an averaged size SG that can't shoot. It's not hard to imagine another team willing to invest more in him as a PG prospect. His agent's job is to scour the field and find that team.

I think both Dante and Donovan are “combo” guards who can play either spot and with multiple backcourt combinations.

Rubio, Hood or Burks would (ideally) be able to work with either guy in the lineup with them. As such, I think Snyder has the freedom to find the best pairing and then use whoever is left from the bench.

Sucks that Exum is hurt, otherwise so think we’d be seeing this in play right now.
