I get that. But I have yet to see any convincing argument to show that this helps the US. Changing the status quo is not necessarily good. This is great for Israel but it does not help any of our stated goals. Changing the status quo doesn't help that IMO.
Backing up - my opinion on war is over the top of Toby Keith when he took a ton of flack for releasing "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue". I don't believe in putting a boot up their ***, I believe in stepping on their throat and telling them what they can and cannot do. That's how war was fought for centuries. It's what kings and emperors and and the USA did after WWII. We did the same damn thing Kings did when conquering a territory by killing leaders, exhibit: hanging Saddam Hussein. It's the only way to solve conflict. Utter destruction and domination. Anything less is nothing more than these patsy *** nation building exercises that have failed since the 1960's.
So how does this benefit us? We've taken a stance on Israel (that frankly is as hypocritical as it gets given our Bill of Rights), but if we are going to take that stance then we need to put the boot on the neck and enforce our dominating stance. It's an expensive pain in the *** to ***** foot around like we're fighting anther Afghanistan or Vietnam. Either kill the bastards threatening them or let Israel protect their own damn religious/racist based government. US is protecting apartheid. We're also in bed with the Saudi's. If we're going to have that kind of human rights violations on our hands in the name of world (USA) security then we need to be either all in or all out.
