What's new

Nikola Mirotic

I'd do that all day long... I am not sure Phoenix or Chicago would. Fans of other teams have wide ranging views of Ricky Rubio, so you would find some that love it and others that'd hate it.
Someone here said that a lot of Phoenix fans were quite open to the idea of Monroe for Rubio and them including a second round pick. Forget who said that.

Alright, how about this?

Rubio to PHX
Bradley to CHI

Monroe to CHI
2nd rounder to CHI

Mirotic to UTA
Not really sure why CHI would prefer Monroe to Favors. Why not just put Favors in rather than do a 3-way? (It's effectively like adding a Rubio for a 2nd rounder for us -- that's kind of meh, for me.) Still think that Chicago's pretty likely not to be all that interested. But who knows?

I would trade Rubio for Monroe in a heartbeat. So I would trade Rubio and a 2nd for Mirotic in a heartbeat as well.

As for Bradley, I would make that part of a counter offer....

I have no idea if Chicago even wants Favors. If they just need to pick up an expiring then why not Monroe. Would be good way to get out of the Rubio experiment then I’d use Favors in another deal, like Hood and Favors to NOP and Cousins to Wizards with Porter coming our way, or Cousins to Boston with Doucheward coking back.

How about something like this

Utah gets Mirotic and a Cleveland 2nd

Chicago gets Shumpert Osman Exum and Cleveland 2018 1st(their own not the nets pick)

Cleveland gets Favors

CHI probably likes this more. I doubt Utah or Cleveland go for it. As for me, I'd rather not give up Exum here. But if I'm reading the Jazz wrong, and they're ready to move on from him, then sure, I'd take it.

why on earth would anyone think Chicago would want Exum. They have Dunn and Lavine

1St Exum is not a starting caliber player. The best hope for him is to become a 6th man, personally I doubt it.

2nd they are going full tank. The goal is not to build a team. The goal is to acquire the players that will help you lose but may become more valuable.

your Exum take is based on what he has done so far which is not a whole lot. There is zero chance the Jazz are giving him up based on what they saw this offseason and preseason until they see what he looks like in a regular season.

My Exum take is based on who Exum is as a basketball player which isn't a whole lot. I'd rather another team bought into his "potential".
