I can tell you that a very real concern is that you SPEND ASSETS to get a guy that can just walk, AFTER making the pick worse.Mirotic is most likely better than any player we’d draft.
Only a moron would give up Mirotic to tank for a player not as good as Mirotic.
This is a no brainer for Utah.
When you can get a 6 ft 10 player who is an above average three point shooter or a 10-15 pick, take the bird in the hand.
To take that risk, to not go after Mirotic because you “hope” you can get a player that “might” be as good...
Be smart. Odds are the draft pick won’t be as good. Mirotic is very, very good. He has borderline all star potential. His age is right. His role fits perfectly with Utah.
It’s a no brainer. It really is.
