Donovan is pissed at some stupid Jazz Fans

If you paid for the ticket, do as you please as long as its legal and not harming anyone else. It's your right as a paying customer. Is it right? Not in my opinion, but it's not my call on how you wish to express your displeasure. Is it classless? Probably in my opinion, but that's my opinion, not a written bylaw of being a fan.
This is just a pastime, true, but if there is no emotion involved you had better start looking for a different team, because passive fans aren't going to continue to buy tickets, apparel and other merchandise to keep it sustainable here.

Sure. Things are always simple as that. Left vs right, Evil vs Good, Right vs Wrong, Democrat or Republican, Smart fans vs Stupid fans, Booing vs No Booing.
Good fans don’t boo their own players unless it’s a D-bag like Cousins or Rondo and they truly deserve it. Even then, I wouldn’t boo either of those guys if they were on the Jazz.

You are in your own right of judging others. That's ok. I prefer to ask myself why would they do it.

Personally, and I've been clear about it (if you read my previous posts), don't support Hood being booed. He doesn't deserve it. But I don't go as far as calling the ones who did stupid or "human garbage". That's uncalled for.

I called them losers, and I stand by that. And I understand the reasoning behind booing but it's lame and I will judge people based on their actions.

Under what scenario do you think it's ok to boo your own team?

When they show absolutely no heart in a game, don't even try. Boing is pretty common in soccer. In basketball you expect no-shows as a result of a grueling 82-game schedule so it's more unlikely. But I would expect it if a teams plays like trash for an extended period of time (and having the talent to overcome it).

Cultural differences also matter. The sport being played too.

Other reasons: malicious actions, unsportsmanlike conduct.

How about you weirdos who are defending the booing stop taking sports so seriously?

You do realize its a meaningless game that you are not even playing right?

I dont care how much you paid for your tickets, or how tough you think you are. You are a delusional and an insane jackass. It comes off as uber pathetic. Your only take away from a basketball game should be the impressive things the players can do on both sides, and just enjoy the game. Realistic expectations should be that that sometimes a player will have off games. It happens to even the very best. If you are emotionally involved at all, and it makes you mad that the player isnt playing as good as you want them too, then its you who has the problem. You dont think the player wants to play well? You think your booing is going to help in anyway? Would you boo your own son if that were him out there? Probably not. You'd probably have a whole different perspective on it. But since its not who gives a crap about that person. Right?

Dont cry when players arent loyal either. They know the truth. Fans are fake with their fake love, and are mostly pathetic delusional retards with no talent of their own.

Now go put on another mans jersey and cry like a little girl when the ball doesnt go in the hole. Whaa!

Classic jock sniffer mentality. You were probably on the Spirit Squad in HS and still collect autographs.

My problem was with Gas referring those fans as 'human garbage' and talking about being cool and all, when he is losing his **** on a sports forum.

Feel free to judge, it's alright. As it is the right of some fans to boo. As lame (or stupid) as it looks. Again, I don't think Hood or the team deserve it

Boo Quin for having the players take so many threes. Mitchell is good because he is the only player driving anymore on the team. The rest stand around an brick up threes. I hated when Malone stopped attacking settling for long twos. I couldn't stand Boozer shooting instead of attacking. Now the whole team just shoots and only Mitchell attacks.

A chorus of boos is just too hurtful on a psychological level, especially when aimed at a single player. If people would put themselves in the position of Rodney, with the torment of 20,000 people looking down upon you with boos raining down from many of them, they would probably act differently.

The thing is, Rodney is actually pretty damn good when he drives and creates. Maybe there's some advanced stats that would refute that, but I think he needs to come out and get his first 2-3 shots in the paint every game. I also think he needs to be starting with Mitchell and Ingles.

The bottom line is booing our own guys does no good. Hayward was forced to go get a contract that the Jazz matched and they wouldn’t give him max money. Now even though they matched that offer and paid him all that money little things like that can factor into a players decision whether you like it or not. The NBA is driven by star talent. Little things like that athletes can and will remember. Sure you have a right to boo, but the players and teammates of the player your booing have a right to remember it and hold it against you. Hayward never mentioned the organization in any of his thanks and the way he handled his departure via texts, etc. showed some serious disrespect. But is that because he’s felt disrespected the last time he was up for signing? He thanked the fans, never the organization. Sorry, but the smallest factor even years later can play a hand in decisions especially when you have several teams offering you millions to come play for them.

Locke before Hayward left said several times the incumbent is always at a disadvantage. All the scars, all the bad memories, all the negatives are on the team you already know. Fans booing your teammates is not a positive memory, and for an athlete, may be something you hold onto even years later. I’m not saying that’s what will happen, but when teams are offering Mitchell max money wherever he wants to go the smallest bad memories can factor into decisions. You or I might not hold onto things for that long, but it feels like Hayward may have in the way he exited. Not once did he thank the organization that didn’t offer him max money and made him go get his own contract, and then he left them with a text. Not the main or only reason he left, but that memory didn’t help the Jazz in trying to keep him. Athletes are wired different, and to think things like this don’t affect future decisions is naive.
