Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

uh .. no dude IT ?? Shumpert .. ?? and K Love with a broken hand ?
Would help with a stealth tank getting K.Love but apparently we arent doing that anymore.

You misses my point though. We have nothing to get the brooklyn pick. But what if we through in our 1st as part of a package.

Also, Id rather an expiring IT than Rubio.

Tony Jones saying the Jazz still pursuing Mirotic too... Also...

(Jazz part starts at 6:00)

According to this reporter, CHI loves Hood. Jazz doesn't want to give him up for Mirotic. The Jazz doesn't want to give up first for Mirotic. Yes! THANK YOU! This is the real layering of the value here. I hope DL stays steady on this one and doesn't budge. 1st>Hood>Mirotic.

He also mentions Burks and Ingles, but this feels like they don't belong in the same sentence. Or at least they shouldn't...

We also know that CHI is more than willing to take an albatross in return as long as they get a 1st. According to KOC from the Ringer, NOP wants to clear the Asik deal more than they want Mirotic. This is why the deal is actually falling apart - because they don't want the salary past this year, which Mirotic will NOT OK. In other words Mirotic is not close to worth a first on his own and you have to take 15M of albatross money in order for him to get to 1st round pick value.

CHI just took 15M albatross and gave up Mirotic for a first. Who is going to give them a first with an expiring now? The Asik salary is worth a first on its own. Mirotic is VERY FAR from fetching a first himself.

If that is true then I’d imagine Favs to NO and Niko to Utah would happen... asik and pick to Chicago.

I mean surely we’d offer that and maybe a second at least.

Yeah. This deal makes way too much sense. I don't know why it hasn't happened yet.

Ok, here’s my super trade. It’s having trouble loading:

Boston trades:
Hayward to NOP
Ojeleye to Utah

Boston gets:
Cousins
Joe Johnson
Rodney Hood
Rondo

NOP trades:
DMC to Boston
Frank Jackson to Utah
Omer Asik to Chicago
Ajinca to Chicago
Rondo to Boston
First rounder to Chicago

NOP gets:
Derrick Favors
Gordon Hayward

Chicago trades:
Mirotic to Utah

Chicago gets:
Asik
Ajinca
First rounder from NOP

Utah trades:
Hood to Boston
Joe Johnson to Boston
Favors to NOP

Utah gets:
Mirotic
Frank Jackson
Semi Ojeleye

I proposed Favs Jerebko to NO and Niko and Ajinca to Utah... as an add on to the original trade.

Maybe everyone is sleeping on it but if NO wants expiring contracts we have so many to offer.

This seems like such a natural obtainable deal.

Boston gets a lot out of this deal and should probably send some compensation NO way. I’d really like to facilitate a deal that takes Hayward away from Boston. That’d be a huge win.

The Cavs aren't trading the Brooklyn pick. So what could we get from them that's of any interest to us that they would actually trade? I don't see anything except for maybe Crowder. They don't seem like interesting trade partners for us.

Their own pick, along with Frye (expiring). Doubt they want to give up Crowder, so other assets need to move. Maybe they want JJ instead? That contract is easier to match.

We then quickly convey that pick to Chicago for Mirotic. Jazz have no problem agreeing to Niko's extension. However, they're trying to get Jordan and Williams. Jazz could facilitate.

Utah: Niko
Cavs: Favors
Bulls: Frye and a 1st.

Unfortunately, that does not work in the trade machine thing. It would need to be Iman or JR Smith. Maybe the Bulls are willing to take one of those two instead of an inspiring. However, I am sure the Cavs 1st round pick is not all that exciting in the first place.

Not as good as the NO pick, but it's a first and the Pelicans don't want Niko's extra year. Chicago was willing to take on Asik. To only have Shumpert would better for them.
