Ingles looks like he came right out of the YMCA league. the 40 and over league

Is it just me or do the Jazz uniforms look like one of those tropical-fruity Popsicles??

CJ and Nurk are 1/10. We need them to show up. Cant just expect Dame to will us to victory.

This Jazz team is a lot of fun. I love Mitchell - my favorite rookie since Lillard, probably. Hope Portland can come back, but Utah is steamrolling teams lately.

I go downstairs to grab a bite, I come back upstairs and we're down double digits... WTF happened?!?! Davis is NOT a good match-up with Gobert... he lacks the bulk to keep him off the glass.

Our second unit is clearly more skilled. Unfortunately we are letting the Jazz dictate the game ATM.

Jerebko and Meyers look like brothers. except jerebko can play...

Damn, Mitchell plays like hes air-apparent

Apparently Gobert can throw his body all around on screens. Ed cannot.

Ingles is one of those guys that im surprised when he misses a shot..

Could literally anybody outside of Dame get some points?

Jazz continue to steamroll Blazers in the 3rd Q, outscoring them 22-5 over the first 5:58. The Blazers are 2-for-10 from the field.

Stifle Tower. The almost comic book level-y lanky Rudy Gobert lived up to his nickname tonight, completely shutting down Portland’s offense in the paint and being largely responsible for holding the Blazers shooting to an abysmal 40.7%. Even when guys were able to get a step on him, his ability to recover and affect the shot is unreal. Portland had no answer.

Oh third quarter, why do you hate us so???

blazers getting pushed around like 4th graders right now

I'd trade CJ plus the Blazers' first round pick this year for Donovan.

Mitchell is going to be special....he already is the best rookie. I know people are high on Collins, but in an alternate past a Mitchell/Kuzma draft for Portland would have really changed the Blazer outlook

The thought of a Mitchell/Kuzma draft for Portland makes me tear up inside a little bit. Both rookies who were ready to give big time value right away. I like Collins, too, but I don't think he'll be a big impact player for a few years, if ever. There are so many amazing rookies this year that it is hard not to feel like Portland whiffed with their choices.

Options if you're the Blazers. 1) Stay frustrated that your missing shots & they're making them. 2) Make some shots

Utah is so long with smothering defense. Blazers need to find an offensive space.

I'd kill for consistent role players. We know Dame will bring it every night, but aside from Ed I can't think of a single other consistent player on our team

jazz are a good defensive team, especially with gobert back. that combined with us playing no D equals a pretty bad time

donovan mitchell reminds me of dame. Jazz got a good looking squad with a healthy gobert.

Jazz are literally able to do everything but murder the Blazers.

I’m still watching because I hate myself.

The Jazz are playing like the best team right now. I had hoped the Blazers would at least keep it respectable but this is pathetic.

The Jazz are the hottest team in the league right now. I'm not surprised.

Getting embarrassed by Ingles and Mitchell, this is pathetic. I don't care how many they've won in the last 10, you are getting baptized by an inferior team.

Kind of realizing this is how big nurkics impact is on defense. He might look lackadaisical but we just got laid the **** out without him

our defense tonight is like unbelievably bad. I like our intensity trapping at half court and double teaming, but it doesnt matter if we give em a layup every time

CJ: 8 for 22 FG, 4-6 FT, 5 turnovers, -19 Some ugly basketball tonight.

You could replace Leonard with a robot trashcan tonight and it would make zero difference..

Little help for Dame. The Jazz seemed content to let Lillard get his and just focus its attention elsewhere. Aside from McCollum, who struggled his way to just 22 points on just as many shots, only Shabazz managed to reach double-digits with 10 points off the bench. The Utah Jazz brought hustle and energy into the Moda Center, blowing out the Blazers, 115-96.

The red-hot Utah Jazz rolled into Rip City riding a league-best eight-game winning streak and easily extended that number to nine in a row after handing the Portland Trail Blazers a 115-96 loss on Sunday night.

The Blazers (31-26) held a 44-43 lead after two quarters before the Jazz (28-28) seized control of the game with a dominant third quarter and led by as many as 25 in the second half.

The loss snapped Portland's own winning streak at Moda Center at eight games.

The win gives the Jazz a 2-1 series edge with the final meeting later this month (Feb. 23 in Utah).

"I'm disappointed with the loss. The first quarter we started out great - one-point lead at the half. It got away from us in the second half. You start looking at the standings and this was a big game." - Terry Stotts

Mitchell better then the whole portland organization

That 44-43 halftime lead was cool.

mitchell is a beast.. nurk still soft and inconsistent.

Jae Crowder looked really good on the court. That guy can play. The guy is a bargain at 7million a year.

Ugly game. It was mostly Dame VS the entire team of Utah Jazz in the 4th quarter.

Ingles is one of those guys who is underrated by everyone until they see him play against their team.

CJ was terrible. Nurkic was terrible. Aminu got abused in pick and rolls by a 64 year old white guy who looks like he belongs in a YMCA league. (yes, Joe Ingles is a good player. Still inexcusable.)

what a too-late, wasted, and meaningless effort. Dame played almost entire 2nd half in a garbage game. I have no idea of what's going on.

Ingles is a guy I can't believe is making plays while I watch him make plays

Everyone thinks the rest of the team is trash but its very hard staying engaged when you just watch two players shoot every possession

· Yeah that happens when 2 of your 5 starters don't have any points until the 4th quarter and nobody helps Dame

Embarrassing home blowout. Place was mostly be empty by the forth quarter

Wow humiliating loss to a superior team.

Utah outrebounded Portland, 58-37, including a 16-6 advantage on the offensive glass. Second chance points went in favor of the Jazz, 19-6.

Let’s play a fun game... let’s name all the players in tonight’s game that had more assists than your point guard, @Dame_Lillard, who had a grand total of 1. Ingles O’Neale Gobert Mitchell Crowder Neto

Full credit to the Utah Jazz: Portland came out and gave a great effort. Utah kicked them in the rears anyway.

When Joe Ingles has a shot swirl on the rim it goes in the opposite direction of other players.

CJ with that crispy -19 and 5 turnovers

Because it sucks seeing your star give it everything he has only for his team to not give a ****, play selfishly, and get blown out.

Our defense went to **** after Nurk left due to injury in the third.

we get smacked by every team with absurd length smh

We were up 13 at one point. game was in control. “Absurd length” is not an excuse for losing to a team missing one it’s best players, and it’s second/first best player is a rookie. We are fighting for a playoff spot and we keep losing to teams we should beat. That’s the problem. Your imaginary narrative doesn’t exist. We know this team is not on the warriors level or even close, that’s why we get excited when we win.

We hold almost no tie breakers among the teams we’ll be fighting against for the playoff spots, dame is continuing to get banged up trying to will us into these games and it’s only a matter of time before he tries too hard and sprains something. We have one of the hardest schedules coming up. We could have had a nice cushion by beating teams we were supposed to, but we didn’t.

Jazz are on a 9 game winning streak and played great. We **** the bed in the 3rd and couldn't come back. Donovan Mitchell was insane!

I thought Utah was out of the picture before this streak. The playoff race will be insane at the end of the season.

i felt that too. Without gobert, jazz were pretty meh and not really a threat. with him back now they are 10-2 and it seemslike it came out of nowhere

Its more the pattern. We aim to be more than playoff fodder, yet get assblasted by a less talented Utah team on our home court. This is one of many winnable games against mediocre teams that a team should beat.

Tonight's stat line: Damian Lillard: 39 pts, 3 Reb, 1assist. Everyone else: 6 tons of *******, 4 quarters of cat pee.

I had about six paragraphs typed up about this team and this loss, but it's not worth it. This team isn't even fun to watch right now and our lack of a good trade has hamstringed us going into what is the third hardest stretch for all teams to close the season. This team has no future with the current roster.

Avenues, thanks yet again for the effort you put into these threads. Amazing.

I’m lol’ing at all the Blazer fans that think Utah is the “inferior” team.

They don't realize the difference in strength of schedule combined with Rudy missing so many Games. They are also really screwed by their contracts going forward. They can't do anything besides resign their own players unless they trade CJ or Lillard. Nobody else is tradeable unless they give up a pick.

Love this one, even though I’ve heard it’s not actually true (never been to the Southern Hemisphere so I have no idea).
It isn't. The Coriolis effect has no impact on small bodies of water under normal conditions.

That or he's left-handed. I get it though.
When a shot swirls around the rim the direction it is a function of the side of the rim that the ball makes contact with and nothing else. Any shooter in any hemisphere can shoot a shot that swirls in either direction.

Oh man that was delicious and saltier than mcdonald's fries.

Every game thread is people raging about getting beat senseless by Joe Ingles. It is the best thing. I love him so much. They don't understand that he is the reincarnation of Larry Bird. He looks like a guy who rips you off when you get your oil changed. But he's the legend and there's no answer for his skill set. Joe Ingles is the basketball version of Liam Neeson in taken.

Shoutout to DL for not going nuts in 2016 free agency like a child with cash.

The Jazz have "no weapons" and "no talent", and at the same time they wonder why only Lillard showed up. World-beaters and generational talents such as Nurkic, Aminu, Turner, Leonard, etc. didn't display their tremendous skills.
OK :D

Yep, keep sleeping on the Jazz you doufus. We'll show you mediocre again when the Portland Lillards and a band of scrubs come to town.

I like the comment about how everyone under appreciates Ingles till he plays their team.

I feel that applies to almost the entire team. "Oh, it's just the Jazz" Game finishes with a double digit Jazz win on their home court. Fans left looking like they just escaped a lions den "wtf happened!?"

The Jazz happened. The Jazz
