Royce O'Neale Over Bolomboy

I really like Bolomboy and was rooting for him to make it. . . but I don’t think that there’s any doubt that DL made the right move.

Royce O’Neale has been a great find. He’ll very likely get 6th man minutes in the playoffs as a (admittedly older) NBA rookie. Add in his contract, and that’s just flat out amazing. Jazz got a younger, cheaper version of Jonathon Simmons by turning over stones.

As I stated before, he's not as far along as other players his age due to picking up the game so late in his life. IMO his shooting will only get better, just requires patience to let him develop.

You don't see the upside and potential he brings? Let's also understand that he's in his infancy as far as his basketball life goes as he only recently picked up the game, so it's going to take a few years.

What pisses me off is he couldn't even get consistent mins in preseason, and yet still balled out and showed some promise even in the small amount of min he received. I'm also on record somewhere saying he needed to be kept over Neto, not Royce.

I see a guy with atheism through the roof, a guy who can play multiple positions, be a force defensively and hit threes. For me I feel the jazz missed out on a great opportunity.

The only thing that haSnt caused me to go full ape on this subject is that Royce is proving to be a great find, but IMO this is going to be a mistake the jazz will have to live with, but what's done is done.

Thanks for elaborating

It shouldn't piss you off he wasn't playing that much. We had less preseason games and several new players. They needed time to gel. Others roster invitees didn't even get a minute. Also, it's not like Bolomboy set SL in fire (he averaged 6.5ppg, 5.7 rpg). Later he became an interesting prospect with his solid play in pre-season, nothing more.

Letting him walk was not a mistake, neither will come to bite the Jazz. He is a fringe NBA player who have had some opportunities in other teams and couldn't make the roster. Hopefully he finds a place one day. By all accounts he is good kid, has few skills and works hard.

For the record, I wanted to let Neto go and keep Bolomboy and Royce

I get that, but at the bottom of the roster, positional necessity needs to be factored in. The Jazz had lost Hayward, Hill and Exum for the year - but added Rubio and Mitchell to help add depth there. After adding Udoh, Jerebko and Sefalosha, the Jazz were heavy on frontcourt players and still weak in the backcourt.

Even if you don’t like Neto, the Jazz has to either keep him or sign a guy to replace him. There’s no way you go into the season with one healthy point guard.

Once the Jazz drafted Bradley and decided to develop him on the Stars and then signed O’Neale to fill out the wing depth. . . Bolomboy getting cut was inevitable unless he absolutely blew up during SL/preseason.

Bolomboy cant really play the 4, is undersized for the 4 and 5, and is a very inconsistent shooter.

Plus, we have NEEDED Neto due to injuries to our guards this year. Eric Griffin is a better prospect than Bolomboy.

This is just fantastic. I Loled. Don't care to comment on anything else really, because other than last game Neto has been fine, and Royce is an actual, deserving rotation player.
And u bring nothing to the conversation, you're a joke.

This is a guy that is extremely gifted athletically, but doesn't know how to use it yet because he's so raw and learning the game of basketball, and use it within the game. Imagine what Snyder and staff could do for his game. Bolomboy is just so intriguing to me as a player.

He’s laughing because you said he has atheism through the roof.

Be that as it may, the front office disagreed with that assessment and Bolomboy has done nothing to prove it was incorrect. At some point, potential has to become production.

He's laughing because you misspelled and said "atheism" instead of athleticism you illiterate slob.
