Greg Miller: We need to get bigger and we need to improve our shooting

This is what's great about having the 3rd pick .. High likelihood at getting a great player, regardless.

Most people have Knight ranked ahead of Kanter.

I've been tracking the mock drafts for a while now, and that only happened after the Jazz got the #3 pick. That is, they have Knight ranked higher because they think the Jazz will likely pick him, not necessarily because they think he should be ranked ahead of Kanter.

On the other hand you had almost all mock drafts at one time (before draft order was determined) with us picking Fredette. So why dont more think that we could pick Kanter (trade Millsap or Jefferson for a wing) and then take our golden boy Fredette?

Thank you!!!

Lit'cherlly ell oh ell'd!! You have MAYBE only seen YouTube clips of these kids and now they are "your guys"?

-Austin Rivers isnt a PG, period.

-Kabongo has Stevie Franchise written all over him

-Teague; "ehhhh"

-Marshall.............

But you keep hope for the future, ok. Tell us all about the 2013 crop of guys you've

never seen play either, in a few months.

I never gave my opinions of these players, I just listed their names.

You are the one with the specific opinions on these players.

How dumb can you be?

I'm guessing because the mock draft people simply don't think we'll want Jimmer as much any more if we go with a PG with our first pick.

I think you can get bigger and longer in more positions than just center. Picking Kanter doesn't necessarily make us any longer, however, Williams at 3 as a 3 does make us longer.

Dude, if we got Kanter and put him at PG we would be long as ****. Not to mention he is a decent shooter.

I think Williams would be best served to lose 5-7 pounds, all while retaining his strength, in order to play the 3 and have the (lateral) quickness necessary to do so. I don't care what any "expert" says; I do not see him as a 4 at all. He'd be mediocre at best imo. But as a 3, if he gets a little quicker, I think he could be an elite scorer.

I think he's plenty quick now. If he loses 5-7 pounds over an 82 game season I wouldn't be surprised though.

He has a 9' standing reach, he could easily play the 4 and be very good. I think he can be both SF or PF, but I think he would be a much better 4. He would create a speed mismatch for almost every team to guard him, and he still has the length and strength to defend every 4 in the NBA.

These guys don't play in a vacuum based on measurements. Based on what I saw of him in college, I don't see that game translating down low on the offensive end on other NBA 4's. I suppose he could destroy defending 4's if they tried to guard him on the perimeter so there's that. But defensively, I see him being a MAJOR, MAJOR liability at either the 3 or 4 and I don't want a soft defensive team. If we do draft him, I'd REALLY like to see us do what we can to move up from 12 to 8 or 9 to get Biyombo if he's there because we're going to need more than just Al (rolls eyes) and Favors behind him. We'll need a hell of a defensive frontcourt in the paint for the 15 times a game someone blows by Williams if he's at the 3 or getting posted up like a 4th grader at the 4. Just my opinion of course and I hope you're right or we draft Kanter.

Uhhh, Williams has the standard game of the standard PF now a days. Athletic face up 4 who can hit from outside. I don't see him struggling to score at all. Defense is always a struggle for rookies. I doubt he will be as bad as you think though.

Offensively, perhaps you're right. But defensively? He sucked on the defensive end at the collegiate level. You think that'll get better in the pros? I believe it's next to impossible to teach effort. A guy either has it or he doesn't. And he doesn't have it. Hell, even at the workouts, it's come out that he looks very lazy on defense.

He wasn't that bad. I would feel more comfortable with him guarding your average starting PF than the average SF.

Players rise in the draft each year. I remember dwill( illinois)was ranked about 12 or so before tournament. He started to rise during the tourney. We know how that turned out. Knight is rising. He had a great combine, great tourney and interviews very well. He will be very good. Did you by chance compile this in 05?

Don't think so, sorry.

i believe he will be very good too, but what u dont get is, knight rose so high thanks to withdrawal of 4 great guys and jazz's need in the pg spot plus his good performance in tourney. In the year Dwill was drafted, it was only concerning his performance. So its incomparable.

Yea, because we really want a PG who's biggest weakness is "turnovers and being able to finish at the rim"

Big men carry teams, not PG's. You not knowing this says loads about you.

Your knocking Knight for To's and promoting we draft Jimmer?
