Hayward and Evans Body Mass Index

So I just did the calculations...

Hayward's Body Mass index is 22.7
and
Evans' Body Mass index is 21.1

Whereas,
BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

So as you can see both the players we drafted fall with in the normal weight categories. I think weight will be a non-issue in the coming years, especially for Hayward. Real excited about this pick!

I am not worried about the weight. I am worried about the guy not being a good shooter and defender. Those things have to change quickly. Improvement is needed.

BMI doesn't mean much for most hardcore athletes, listing many of the most ripped players in the league as "overweight".

I think Hayward's height is fine, but he definitely needs to bulk up.

Boozer, at 6'9" 266, has a BMI of 28.9 and is thus overweight.

Guess we shouldn't re-sign him << doing a little dance >>.

( BMI is an imprecise measure already, and is even more so for athletes. But my conclusion stands :eek:. )

We are talking about professional athletes here. Do you think they're not under weight to play in the NFL?

And as meaningless as continually posting "Fes had the only +/- against the Lakers". Looks good on paper, but anyone who watches knows better.
You're right. "Anyone who watches" will see that Fes is still raw on both ends of the court but that the team usually outscores the opposition when he's on the court, partly because the opposing team is more reluctant to go inside. That's something that Boozer cannot boast, but his offense is sure mesmerizing (rolleyes), Okur's slow-motion movement is almost hypnotic (puke).

:rolleyes: Keep hanging on this....

There is a different BMI test for athletes. I forget what the hell it is, but I know when I had to do my BMI I had to make sure I was using the right one.

BMI is practically useless for athletes because if you have lots of muscle, your BMI will be quite high.

The %body fat is a much better number.

Have you said this so many times that you actually believe it?

Actually, it's more like the more I "say" it, the more evidence I find.

Fes was a net positive in the playoffs, and that is more than can be said for his eight-figure PF counterpart.

I'm sorry if the numbers (i.e., the numbers that matter, such as what is the team impact when given players or combinations are on the court) or the play-by-play or the game film don't agree with you.
