The Stretch 4 Discussion Thread

I hope the Jae we saw in the playoffs is the real Jae. I am afraid the Jae we saw during the regular season is the real Jae. If he is going to jack up shots outside of the offense he damn well better hit a few of them.
Wait, you hope the guy who shot 32% from the field and 33% from 3 is the real Jae Crowder?

I hope to god the Jae we saw this year is an anomaly because he was bad.

This is what I was trying to say... there is a disconnect on how we talk about Jae versus his actual numbers.

another guy that is forgotten that I'd love to bring in if the price is right is Seth Curry. Injured all year not sure if he's healthy. He might work well with Dante... he's a SG in a PG body, but shoots the lights out.

He was bearable in the Houston series because the Jazz needed a player with a high variance of potential performance to have a chance.

He was so aggravating in the OKC series because we really didnt need him to do all that much for us to win, but he still managed to take terrible shots and miss easy ones to the point where it hurt the team.

Think Mike Muscala will be available? Maybe involve him in a sign and trade with Atlanta if they decide they want Favs.

My cousin mentioned an interesting stylistic fit: Aldridge. What would you guys think about him? Haven’t looked at all at whether he’s obtainable though

edit: just seems like spurs might have to move some pieces if kawhi really doesn't stay, so thought he might be on the trading block a bit

Looks great on offense, but not sure if we he is playable together with gobert defensively against top offenses.

Jae has been fine for us. Quit whining people.

Also, Favors is not our answer against teams like GS and Houston. He just cant stay on the floor with Rudy. I want to keep him for depth and matchups against many teams, but we need an improvement over him to contend.

There are guys that have a certain mentality that becomes apparent early on but nobody acknowledges how bad it is... Aldridge is one of them if you followed his drama in Portland. I was very baffled that SA went after him because of that, then he had his drama there, and even just came out that last year or whenever he had called Lillard to have him talk to the GM about trading back for him, which is comical.

Guys in this same boat would include Dwight Howard, Tracy McGrady, Kirilenko, Melo, and some others. If people throw publicized fits about where they’re at, their role, etc., it’s really just a symptom of a much deeper problem.

But as a player he’d be a pretty damn good fit, aside from his terrible ability (or lack thereof) at rebounding.

To some extent, that sounds like he's accepted that he won't be the alpha star by asking that though. Which i dont think was the case with some of the other names you mentioned.

Said it in my edit above, but he's a great fit on offense, but not sure about defense. Our guards rebound really well, so his rebounding issues can be mitigated a bit, and we'd actually have someone to throw the ball down low to in mismatches.

Whatever stretch 4 you get it want. They better be able to rebound. And play defense. Cause that’s what Favs brings. And with how bad Gobert struggled boxing out for rebounds. He’s going to need that help on the boards. Love fits the bill. But the guy is hurt more than Favors is.

Gobert didnt really struggle rebounding, that's a myth. Any struggle in the Rockets series in terms of rebounding came from losing Rubio.

Agree. I think Jae was trying too hard to impress the new boss. Hopefully this summer Bryant and Snyder can work on his corner 3's and his decision-making. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I wonder how his left/right corner splits were from his last couple of Boston seasons to this one.

He simply has to learn to play under control offensively and be more efficient. I'm actually expecting more from O'Neale, tbh.
