Top 5 Targets for Summer 2018

Maybe the reason KAT is on the market. Even though he's eligible doesn't mean Minnesota is going to pay it.

IINM, AD is now eligible for the super max. Might make Mirotic easier to get - if NO is interested in re-signing Cousins.
He's NOT on the market. Minnesota would be insane to even think about trading him. Paying him whatever he wants is a no brainer.

Nemanja Bjelica just became more gettable after KAT was selected to an All-NBA team second year in a row and he will be eligible for the higher end(30%) contract extension so the Wolves would have even less money(even higher luxury tax) to pay other players. I would be shocked if DL doesn't try signing Bjelica this summer. It just makes too much sense.

I wonder if the Jazz had enough money to sign Bjelica, Hezonja and Harris? Then draft KBD

No, we have the MLE and that's about it. Unless we renounce every non-guaranteed contract and free agent we have.

No, they could do it. They just have to waive the trio of vets and Favors. They can keep Exum and still do that, possibly. The Jazz would have around 13-14 million in cap-room (I'm still assuming a 3 year deal slightly below the MLE for Exum) then have the non-tax payer mid-level.

It's just a tough thing to know if you can do since Bjelica is a RFA.

True, but I think there was a wink-and-nod from DL to Mitchell and Rubio to get after BJelly. Utah probably won't do anything overly drastic with the roster after the turmoil last off season and how this team banded together. That said, Utah will be targeting a stretch 4 and BJelly is probably the prime target. Honestly, it does make sense.

I also wonder if Booker wouldn't mind coming back for a end-of-bench role if nothing else pans out. He could be 50 and I'd still have him on the team. But then again, I just miss him.

32 going on 33 in June. If our championship run was next year maybe. He is going to be washed up by the time we make our run in 2-3 years.

I think he helps create a championship culture and good habits. He is one of the hardest workers in practice. Even if he is not part of the Jazz championship team, he can teach the habits and lead by example that will have a lasting effect.

All of the nonguaranteeds work for Deng: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9h55btn.

We then trade one of our exceptions (Hood or JoeJ) and picks for Kuzma.

If we have to pick up Stockton's option to then trade him, then so be it. He would get bought out by LA, but at least he would get a nice little pay day.

Talking about how we could get Kuzma is just like some other fan base coming up with schemes on how we would trade Mitchell. It sounds ridiculous, and I dont think LA is about to do it.

I don't think they are either. However, I only brought it up because the Lakers FO said that nobody is untouchable. If DL went out publicly and said everybody was available for the right price then Mitchell rumors would be warranted.

I think we should pursue it even if it leads no where. Deng is a financial anchor and we could send multiple first rounders in addition to taking that massive contract off their hands.

I'm not sure that grabbing Kuzma isn't unfeasible. If they want to unload contracts for space, we're one of the few teams that can eat the deal. Regardless if Favors re-signs or not, we still need a stretch 4. To eat Deng's contract, we are going to get Kuzma out of it. It really is just a matter of if they think Kuzma is worth Pg and another max max player. Simple as that.
