Jazz select Grayson Allen at 21

Utah fans forgetting about John Stockton’s famously large hands is amusing. C’mon guys. I’m embarrassed for you! That’s Utah Jazz history.
 
I think the pick is fine. And I honestly don't understand the hate. Grayson is a good athlete. Grayson is a proven shooter (38% from 3, 83.4% from the FT line in his 4 year Duke career). He's a decent ball handler and passer. He doesn't have impressive size, but he has okay size. He has potential to play both guard spots offensively. He probably won't be an amazing defender but he was adequate defensively in college (positive defensive win shares, 1.8 steals per 36, 2.3 DBPM). He has a high chance of being a solid rotation player in the NBA for several years. If you're getting that at pick 21 you're doing pretty good. He was #24 on my board so he wasn't bad value at 21 imo. I don't think his attitude will be a problem. If the Jazz thought it would be they wouldn't have picked him.

He said or eluded to that Allen wouldn't be tradeable, this proves that wrong and then on top of it DL decided not to trade him, the anger may cause his head to simultaneously explode and implode at the same time.

Yup. Picks in the 20's are nothong more than gambles and Allen offers potential as a legit role player.

Sorry guys, but a pick like this makes a lot of people who cover the league, or are in the league...sort of laugh and think “classic Utah”.
