I agree with this but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mitchell and Simmons win Co-ROY. Also, wouldn’t be surprised to see Stevens win COY.

How awkward is it that Casey could win COY and he got fired.

......now I wonder if Simmons wins, if during his acceptance speech he’ll troll/take a shot at Donovan?

I wish they’d do co-ROY, I don’t think it’s likwly at all. I think Quin has a shot at COY. The media out east may have diluted votes between Casey/Stevens enough hopefully Quin can win.

I think the draft needs to stay before free agency. But I get it...sometimes it would be helpful to know which free agents you are keeping or getting so you can draft accordingly. But the reverse is also true. With Allen being drafted, Utah likely looks for a 4 or combo forward in free agency, not a SG.

As for the awards, Stevens eserves COY. Boston had a ton of injuries in the regular season, and Kyrie went down for the playoffs. Still they made it to the EC Finals. My second choice would be Casey. Best record in East. The knock is that he gets outcoached in the playoffs. But this is a regular season award. It's tough because Quin also did a helluva job.

No doubt Gobert deserves DPOY.

As for rookie, I have to give the nod to Simmons. He averaged nearly a triple double. He knows his limitations and wont chuck from 3pt range. Donovan was just too inefficient. He's exciting for sure and is becoming a mega star, but in all honesty, even though I hope he wins, I just think Simmons had a slightly better season, by the narrowest of margins. TBH, I'm hoping for a tie.

I agree with all of this except for the ROY

Maybe they'll award them both, ROY and SOY (Sophmore of the Year).

I think if the playoffs counted Stevens would be a lock but they dont and voting happened before the playoffs. He still might win but I think someone else will, probably Casey since again the voting happened before the playoffs and he lead his team to the #1 seed in the East.

The same is true of Mitchell. If they counted the playoffs he would easily win ROY but they dont so Simmons will get it since voting happened before he got exposed.

This is how I see it going down as well. And I am fine with that. Would love Donavon to win it and Simmons should not be a candidate but under the rules he is eligible and he is a great young talent.

I'm sure the mathematical odds of Donovan and Simmons tying are extremely low.

like how low the odds were that Cleveland would win the lottery 2-years in a row and three times in 4-years after LeBron left them? The NBA has magical powers to make the improbable happen.
