And I don't get people complaining about selling the 52nd pick. The Jazz have a nearly full roster, a young center they still need to find time to develop, and 2-way contract players. The Jazz are clearly investing more into seasoned young players (guys who have spent years in the G-League or overseas) to develop over the limited pool of late 2nd round players. DL said he tried to trade up in the 2nd round to target a guy, but it didnt work out. I dont think there is any reason to randomly draft someone you dont believe in if you dont have the roster space.
Yes, they havent hit on as many 2nd round players as they did in the past under KOC, but it's not like they haven't gotten any (like I've read some people say). Everyone somehow forget Raul Neto existed. The 47th overall pick who has played 162 games for the Jazz, starting 53 of those.
And the Jazz are still under that "legacy trust" thing where no money is taken out of the team by the owners. So if the Jazz are selling the pick, it's not like it's going to Greg to buy something unrelated to the Jazz. It's probably to help pay for stuff like the free agent mini-camps they do, which helped unearth a guy like Royce O'Neale.
