Carillo impressed me the most from Peru squad in this world cup. Strong, lighting fast and technical dribbler as well.
 
hm.. that Jedinak challenge on Cueva was very close to red card...I guess ref decided he did not see him and did it by accident... Still looks nasty and reckless.

Yeah, I don't think it was intentional but it was pretty nasty
 
Well Peru is doing Denmark a nice favor...but they certainly deserve at least a win for their showing in this World Cup. I read that some fans sold their properties just to afford to come to Russia to cheer for their team, now that is dedication.

Fans filled every stadium, so much passion for their national team. We should have won/tie against Denmark (that Cueva penalty was our doom) and maybe steal a point against France. Teams in group D look beatable (Peru had easy wins against Croatia and Iceland before the WC and Argentina is a pile of crap).

Cueva can't stop crying. Hasn't recovered from missing that penalty against Denmark. His teammates trying to cheer him up.

Very moving participation by Peru. No super stars but well-coached, gritty players. Lots of talent. Amazing fans.
 
Interesting games to come... Nigeria-Argentina will be fun to watch... Argentina needs to score so it will open up Nigerian counter attack which they showed they have a great potential to finish. Iceland can't sit back vs Croatia, they will need to try to score as well, they beat them once in European qualifiers which certainly will give them confidence that they can do it again. Croatia on the other hand almost guaranteed first place no matter the score ( unless they lose big and Nigeria wins big) so they may rest players with yellow cards or play less inspired than in a do or die game.

Nigeria counter attack is deadly. And remember they beat Argentina 4-2 a couple of months ago. Really exciting game and the pressure is on Argentina. On the other hand, Argentina always pull off games like this, after playing poorly and on the brink of elimination. Hopefully thats not the case today and get eliminated. Also, Argentinian fans and journalists are insufferable (along the lines of clutchfans).
