Sign and trade ideas for Boozer.

Boozer + AK47 + filler for Bosh + Hedo.

I know, I know. Bosh is also a terrible defender but given the fact that he can also carry our offense and is one of the most versatile bigmen in the NBA + we will get rid of AK47's heavy contract, it should be taken into consideration.

Even if this deal could be worked out on paper, Bosh has to agree to it. So does Boozer to Toronto. Neither have any chance of happening.

Boozer for Joe Johnson?

No. Joe Johnson would be like the second coming of Jeff Malone. Jeff was a terrific mid-range scorer. A lot of Jazz fanz foget that he was a 20 ppg scorer and big part of Utah's offense for three seasons. Jeff Malone was one of my favorite players back in the day. He was a former All Star, but his game was very flawed and didn't fit Utah's system. Like Jeff, Joe is not that great of a catch-n-shooter and not that reliable from three. Also like Jeff, Joe is prone to taking plays and even games off. Joe is better suited for a non-structured system like he had in Atlanta. He likes to pound-and-pound the ball while everyone watches. The Jazz offense is about reading the defense, looking for cutters, and deciding whether to pass or shoot. I don't see Joe being able to do that effectively. He would piss off the fans, show now leaderships on the court, and dissapear from time-to-time.

It's time to pull your face out of that pie in the sky. There is no way in hell Bosh ends up in SLC.

I know that "small market/big market" struggle. However, I do not think that the teams that will offer him the max money are/ will be better than the Jazz in terms of team success. That's why I give at least a small chance for this move to happen. We also know Bosh and Dwill are close friends. Carlos will not be "priority" of any team that is entering this year's FA market with lots of money to spend. I think he will go anywhere, including Minny, as long as he gets his max money. One should be blind not to figure out this.

Michael Beasley. I think his stock has dropped enough for this. I'd also play him at the 3.

Boozer to Chicago for either Deng or Heinrich and their 1st. Probably the best we're going to get. Deng is a good replacement for AK after next year. Heinrich is a solid backup to Deron that can also play SG. Both guys are overpaid though, thus we need their 1st rounder to make it fair.

Have you seen Hedo's contract?

Why does everyone think a sign-and-trade is going to net a great player in return?
Boozer is a good talent, but no one is going to give us an all-star just to give him an extra year.

Besides, Greg is NOT going to take back $10-$15M in salary and have to pay that much in luxury tax. Mark my words, AT BEST, Jazz will get a backup in return and a lottery-protected first-round pick. They will NOT take back significant salary. And Carlos' disappearing act against the Lakers sealed his fate with Utah. Jazz will NOT make a serious effort to keep him. But the liar that Greg is (he of the "I want to make this team better" quote before dumping Maynor and Brewer), will make it seem like he's trying. There will be "conversations" with Pelinka. And then Miller and KOC will put on their long faces and say that despite their efforts, depsite wanting Carlos to remain, Boozer decided to "go in a different direction."

Actually I have a 2 team deal that i was thinking about. Utah, NY and GS There are a lot of peices to this puzzle but it all works out

utah trades Boozer, Okur and Price
NY trades Duhon (s and T), Curry
GS trades Maggette, Randolph and Beidrins

NY gets Okur, Price and Randolph. They would do this because they are tired of Curry and Okur would be perfect with Labron on the team. he would pull their center away from teh basket thus creating an open lane for Labron. Randolph is a nice young talen to help build around.

GS does this because they finally have a low post threat that they have not had since webber left. They also dump a lot of long term salaries. Curry will be gone pretty soon. They lock in a long term deal with Boozer and Boozer will get a chance to play in California (lol)

Utah gets Maggette, Beidrins and Duhon. utah does this because Maggetts is a great wing scorer. i do not think he is as selfish as he is made out to be. When his contract ends in 3 years he will only be 33 not that old. he is at the prime of his life. Beidrins contract is only 1 year more then we would be paying Okur. beidrins give us defense and shot blacking okur never could. If the Jazz draft monroe he would finsih out games because beidrins catn hit the broad side of the barn from the charity stripe. Duhon is a throw in but in my opinion is a perfect back up to Williams they would have to be able to sign him for around 2 to 3 million (may not happen) He is a good defender that knows how to run a system.

Utah

Williams, Duhon, Who ever

Maggette, Mathews

AK, Korver or who ever they sign maybe even the second rounder

Milsap, Koufos or Monroe

Beidrins, Monroe hopefully Fesenko

Not a bad team at all.

Why the hell would we want Maggette? He is worthless to this team in this system. We just traded a younger cheaper version of Maggette in Brewer because he did not open the floor now were going to pay a ton more for a marginally better player.

If we want Maggette, all we have to do is ask. If anyone wants Maggette, all they have to do is ask. No one's asked. And no one will.

Monroe is not the answer people! he doesnt block shots and is soft!!! I want Maggette, he is a legit scorer and him and Matthews on the wing would be great.

First issue
Biedrins 9 Mil a year for 4 more years with an ETO
Maggette 9.6 Mil with two more years of increases.

We lose about 1.6 with price about 10 will Memo.

We will pay the Luxury Tax with this.

2nd problem
Biedrins cannot shoot at all. Sub 50% free throw shooter. Cannot make a 10 foot jumper.

3rd problem
We don't have post threat.

4th Problem
We loose all flexibility for the next 3 years.

Maggette and Mathews on the wing would be terrible. Maggette is a poor shooter. Without the ball in his hands he is not going to be the player he is right now. Without the ability to be a lights out shooter he adds very little to our team.

Neither great nor terrible. Definitely wouldn't be ideal. Maggette can't guard the big time players at all which leaves Matthews who, while game, cannot nor should not be relied on to guard the best wing for 35 minutes a game.

Have you seen Hedo's contract?

Have you seen AK47's contract? I know, I know the length of Hedo's contract is a big concern and the trade idea looks weird especially when we consider the fact that AK's contract is expiring. However, I believe that Hedo's contact worths taking if Bosh decides to play for Jazz, which looks to be impossible.

You CANNOT and WILL NOT get an ideal contract from a trade that involves AK. People ,all the time, complain about Andrei's heavy contract and the majority thinks that AK's talent and skill set is not utilized in current Jazz system, which I agree with. Andrei is heck of a player. So is Hedo.

We are also doubtful that Millsap, Memo, AK will produce with a high efficiency and effectiveness as Carlos and can compensate for the effect of Boozer on the offense of team + defense of the opponents. I think getting Hedo will not only give us a great deal of height and physical advantage, but also add to the roster another experienced, talented and versatile player. My idea, certainly is not great. It makes sense to me because my primary concerns are
1) Consolidating frontcourt with a versatile player
2) Focusing on getting "shooters" since the reliance and threat of our frontcourt might not be as good as now with Boozer.
