Trump's golf bill

So each round of golf costs $2,453,987.73? That seems really really high, even if he was traveling to Dubai for every round of golf it would seem high. Seems exaggerated to me. I would like to see the itemization of these expenses.

I agree. He needs a lot of security whenever he goes anywhere, but he always has a lot of security anyway. Are they subtracting out the daily expenses of him being at the White House from the total?

Of all the things Trump does that does not meet my approval, golfing is not on the list. All presidents need some exercise and downtime, as do we all. He's an expensive president, to be sure, but who thought he wouldn't be?

He needs his time for sure, but he ran on the promise that he wouldn't golf. He literally told people he would be too busy for vacation. He lambasted Obama for holding and he is golfing like 2x as much

I remember. Of all his lies, though, this one bothers me less than most.

While I agree it does seem steep, Joe Biden opened the new cancer center over the road from my work, we had a secret service presence for the week preceding it, we also had strangely clean and polite homeless people show up over night looking for ways to get in and I think waiting to see how long it was before they were found. The local filth also shut down a city block for the weekend, there was a 70 car motorcade, the thing was nuts and that was for the VP. I would say that 2.4 million a day to move the show, if it included local expenses probably wouldn't be that far off the mark.

Gotta remember secret service still have to guard the white house even if T.Rump ain't there.

My problem with him golfing is that he criticized Obama for doing it. He said he would be too busy to golf. The other problem I have is he is doing it at his resorts so he is making money and the taxpayers are paying for it.

He's on pace to do what, 190 days of golf in two years? That's almost every third day he's golfing. And it's not like he's driving down the road to the municipal course. He's firing up the jet engines and moving the circus.

Do you think its too late for him to join the PGA tour?

George W, played a ton of golf if memory serves.

Did Trump play any golf before he became president?
He surely did not play this much golf as a business man.

1. Oscar De La Hoya
He said this to the Associated Press in 2016:

"Donald, what he does is he tees off first so we go off to our balls and what do we see but Donald Trump right in the middle of the fairway," De La Hoya said. "He said, 'Hey look, I found my first ball.'"

On the next hole, a par-3, De La Hoya said Trump hit into some bushes and again went ahead of the other players in his cart. When the rest of the group got to the green, he said Trump's ball was 3 feet from the hole.

"And by the way I'm picking it up," De La Hoya quoted Trump as saying. "It's a gimme."

"Or invent “championships” the way his clubs hung fake Time magazine covers of him. SI noted a 2013 Trump tweet in which he boasted: “I’ve won 18 Club Championships including this weekend.” But, SI said, “Trump has never made public a list of his club titles, and fact-checking calls to all of the Trump properties on this subject went universally un-returned. Winged Foot is the one non-Trump club at which the President is a member, and his name does not appear on any of the honor boards in the old clubhouse.”

So why does he desecrate the game he loves? He drives his cart on greens and tee boxes. He talks through other players’ shots. He “doesn’t play a round of golf so much as narrate it, his commentary peppered with hyperbole,” SI reports. He says he’s attracted to the game by “walking down all those beautiful fairways,” but he only rides in a cart."
