Here's the UN Climate Report, for release 10/8/18. This thread can be revived at any time you feel the heat coming on. Just various news reports on this most dire assessment yet, at least as far as the consensus science is concerned. From what I can tell. Not a climate scientist, but I would put my money on some degree of accuracy in the predictions contained in the report. I know others here will weigh in with the good news that none of this is actually happening, or that it's likely a Chinese hoax, or that we are actually going into an ice age(@babe?), so have at it now and then. This thread may be good for several decades or more. It will just be there when you need it. Here's to life and survival.

Yeah, we are ****ed. At least, some of us are.

Hard to see the US, much less the world, getting the political will to work together to enact the drastic changes needed to avert disaster.

Aside from my general dislike for children, the devastating effects of climate change are my number one reason for not wanting kids. We are leaving the next generation with a nightmare scenario.

Amazing how different the world was in 1918, just 100 years ago. The current support of climate change denying politicians tells us all we need to know about our chances for a reversal. No one cares about the future, they only care about their future.
 
Thanks for this update, Red. Knowing the state of current world politics and how we behave as a species, it is unlikely that anything meaningful will be done until it is too late, and it may already be too late. The human race will be looking for a new world in the 22nd century.
