Proposed Rollback of Transgender Protections

Why do you have to be such an a-hole? To be honest, I didn't know there was a difference between the two. It's really a matter of semantics, in any case. The point is that Roundup Ready crops are the GMO crops that withstand the Roundup or the glyphosate in them. You say your soil is fine. But that isn't what I've read about GMOs and the soil. The thing is that now we are realizing that a lot of pathogens are actually good for us -- beneficial bacteria and harmful bacteria. The theory that I was exposed to says that the Roundup kills both the good and bad and actually erodes the topsoil. You say that isn't true?

Oh. The difference between a plant and a chemical is semantics? Then certainly the difference between Donovan Mitchell and a basketball is just semantics.

Now, I’m not sure what you’ve read. I’m fairly certain you know diddly squat about agriculture. Pathogens that cause diseases in plants generally don’t effect humans in regards to eating them. It effects the yield, the quality, etc. Now if Roundup were to actually kill those (what a ludicrous statement btw, where’s the damn research?!), farmers would be growing even more Roundup Ready crops. I mean, that would be awesome.

I would seriously love to hear how Roundup erodes the soil. Please, tell me how a chemical that I put on at 24 oz an acre erodes soil. Seriously, two coke cans applied over an entire acre, and that amount erodes the soil? Tell me how Roundup erodes the soil and I’ll consider trying to have an actual conversation about this with you.

Wake up Eenie.

It kills all the life in the soil other than the GMO. The GMO is bred to resist Roundup so high doses of it are applied that kill the rest of the life in the soil. At least that's how it has been explained to me. There is a film called "Symphony of the Soil" that explores this and demonstrates how the cultivation of GMOs leads to topsoil erosion.

Ok. You’re not answering my very basic question.

Not going to waste my time.

Btw, everything you said about Roundup in that paragraph was wrong. Roundup is a contact herbicide that effects the plant, not the soil. That’s why I can spray Roundup, and then three days later plant wheat seed and not have any of it be damaged.

That's what you may think. It also kills other life forms and good bacteria in the soil. Watch the movie:

I apologize to all of those who would like to talk about which side is worse, but the Roundup convo is better and more informative.

You’ve been threadjacked. Somebody change the damn title.

It's nice to be on the same side of a conversation as you, for a change. Thread-jack away.
