Beto dropping F-bomb on live tv during his concession brings us down. Children should not be exposed to such crass language in any scenario, IMO, but it's especially egregious when on TV in front of millions. It doesn't make him more relatable, it adds to the rancor.

Kids can read here, more often than they watch the news!

Let the south secede so we don't have to worry about people like Trump anymore.

As long as y'all take DC and the debt I'm down! Texas would be y'alls biggest foreign creditor.

i suspect nothign less from a DUI criminal who got so much money from evil anti semetic globallist to get him elected in a local texas election . i thought you guys where against interference!

How can anyone call last night a win for trump?

He lost control of the House and had a net loss of governorships.

He already had control of The senate. Him improving on that doesn’t change anything as they could and did ramrod through anything they wanted with the exception of repealing Obamacare. That dream is now gone now that we have regained the house.

Are people looking at evidence or just recycling their cynical and poorly informed opinions?

lol

since world war 2 only 3 presidents did better!
roosevelt because of worldwar 2/ pearl harbor!
bush because of 911 attacks.
and kennedy just for being one of most bi partisan likeable presidents!
this is just the fact. other than that trump outpreformed every single president!

how is that not a win. only thing that would trump do better would have been a foreign attack of epic proportion or just be this mythical legendary JFK!

In 2012 Ted Cruz won by 16 percent and over 1 million votes.

In 2018 he’s winning by 2 percent and 200,000 votes.

I know that Beto losing feels bad. But the ground he made up tells me he ran an incredibly successful campaign and things are changing in Texas. I also didn’t think his F-bomb helped anything. But whatever, guess he was caught up in the moment.

Also, it’s disappointing to see pieces of racist **** win in Florida and Georgia. But one needs to remember that both these states are racist strongholds. The mere fact that the African American candidates were so competitive speaks volumes as to the progress that’s been made.

yes he got record amount of money poured form outside texas into his district and still he lost hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
with all that money and power pouring in he still lost!

Apparently so. I think the Democrats losing the high profile contests in Florida Texas and Georgia has fed into the narrative that the Democrats had a bad night, in spite of their victories everywhere else.

The very fact that Georgia and Texas are on that list is good news for Democrats, and the restoration of voting rights to felons in Florida.

This was the first midterm election in which the turnout was over 100 million. The Democratic candidates received somewhere between 9 million-10+ million more votes. More House districts would have gone Democratic, were it not for gerrymandering by the Republicans. In the governorships great to see Scott Walker, he of the Ayn Rand philosophy, go down, and in Kansas, great to see Kris Kobach, he of the fake voter fraud scam, also go down to defeat.

I think one huge reason Beto lost is he went so extreme left in many areas. Running in a Red state, far smarter to go centrist. IMO..

A rebuke for Trump:

https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-...re-a-democratic-victory-and-a-rebuke-of-trump

Trump knows he will feel the heat a bit more. As he tweeted Wed morning: “If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level. Two can play that game!”

Lol, I'm sure, but Mueller just got an important new ally:

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/11/07/mueller-house-democratic-majority-970325

And here come the subpoenas. And maybe the elusive tax returns.

Watching Trump's press conference as I write, he sounds so mild mannered and seeking bipartisanship. So now, he seeks the high ground. Lol. Whoa, tone change, lol, Trump is attacking CNN's Jim Acosta, wow, Trump is actually appearing completely unhinged and Acosta is not backing down from him. Trump is telling all reporters asking tough questions to just "sit down". He's going full throttle at "fake news", quite a scene to witness!

Good grief, watch the presser, Trump attacking "unfriendly" reporters. Amazing scene of an authoritarian in action.

I completely disagree. He came closer to winning a statewide
election in Texas than any other Democrat in 25 years. He did it by exciting new voters and building a new coalition, running to the right is absolutely not the answer.

Agreed.

Ted Cruz won by 16 pts in 2012. He won by less than 3 pts in this one. I get we want to see wins but at the same time let’s be realistic. The fact that it was this competitive with an economy like this speaks volumes as to where Texas is trending and the type of exciting campaign Beto ran.

He also boosted downballot races that helped other democrats win in Texas as well. That doesn't happen with a more traditionally conservative red state dem.

I agree. Mixed bag. Ds Gaines the House and some governorships. They lost ground in the Senate.

As mentioned previously a huge win for Trump is he can continue to jam pack all levels of the judiciary with conservative justices. It’s not just 2 SC justices. He’s also gotten over 50 district court justices and 29 appeals court justices confirmed. There are almost another 60 nominated justices awaiting confirmation for district, appeal and international trade courts.

He has two more years to push a punishing pace there. That’s a huge hit to Ds.

And their capture of the house and ability to launch investigations and stop the Rs legislative agenda is a huge hit to Rs.

It has nothing to do with his performance which is nothing short of abysmal. It has to do with people being more brainwashed and manipulated than they were in the past.

I don't think I was suggesting he run to the right. I felt he ran as far left as Bernie at times, and closer to the center, in a red state like Texas, would have served him better.
