Dante Exum Averages .2 Steals Per Game

Dinwiddie is the nearly the same size of Exum, but has game. He would be an absolute stud in the Jazz's offense. I think he'd be a 20 ppg scorer. I'm ready to throw all the money at him.

Seems like he has a case, in golfing terms, of the yips but the basketball version. The bloke is mentally broken. I think he's scared of Quinn.

A fresh start for all parties would be ideal.

He's a grown adult getting paid 11 million dollars a year to play a professional game with no chance of getting fired from his job or any real consequence. Being scared of the coach isn't really a thing ... if it is he needs to get tf over it

I mean, Exum has doubled his steals this season since I started this thread.

I watched him a little more closely... he just focus on his guy a lot. Had opportunities to reach in on a dribble drive or two and didn’t try. It’s not great obvi... but he does well 1 on 1 I guess.

Based on total career minutes, he basically played 1 or 1.5 season of an NBA starter. And this was interrupted twice with injuries.
He needs more minutes. Not sure how though because it's obvious Coach Q doesn't trust him. One single mistake and he's sidelined next.

Once again, Exum is fine. You put Exum on the the other team's best wing for 15-20 minutes a game to hopefully frustrate them some. The salary cap is $109 million next year. If we are spending less than 10% of our cap number on a guy who is going to play good wing defense for a half, then it is money well spent. If he can learn to provide any offense, then that's an added bonus.

Just remember, we are spending almost as much money on Udoh and Thabo who actually provide next to nothing. And also remember that he isn't some Anthony Bennett bust who isn't even in the league.

Find something else to complain about.

Dante plays solid man on man defense. Refs don't give him enough respect, but he does a good job staying in front of his man and can challenge shots well.

Yes, he is not where he should be, and he needs to work harder on his scoring moves and shooting. He is probably a bust for a top 3 pick, but that was the gamble taken on a relatively unknown. I think he needs a longer leash that he hasn't gotten, but I think he is just a bit awkward and never see him having a great offensive game.

I see Exum having a better offensive game than Roberson, Bruce Bowen, and guys like that. Our coaching staff just needs to focus on making him an elite defensive player which I think he can be.

Much like Grayson, he needs minutes. Burks needs to go and his minutes need to go to Exum and Grayson. Burks helps us now, but those two guys can help us down the road when we should be a better team.

When Exum returned from injury and played his rookie year our D dominated. Rudy was breaking out and Donte defended the point. They were a dynamic duo.

Still that's all Donte does is defend his man. Guy needs to evolve.
