Dante Exum Averages .2 Steals Per Game

Exum has had plenty of opportunity this season and has completely ****ed it up though. You don't get unlimited chances in the NBA. Each time you **** up and lose the trust of your coach, you going to get a shorter leash. It's just how **** works.

I get this and this is the typical argument I hear but on the other side of the argument is the 2 months of BRUTAL Rubio play....

No one will ever convince me we wouldnt be better off if Quin had allowed Dante that freedom for 2 months.

Wow that is ****ing horrendous. I am a total Exum lover - so hit me with the hate.

But that is one of the most ****ing disgraceful reactions from a coach I have ever seen.

I also saw Rubio give a less obvious but similar expression when Dante through his third TO in the game prior to his DNPCD.

Talk about having your player's back.

I don't think Dante is getting no minutes just because 'he sucks'. He can't run an offense like a point guard. This puts him in the now-crowded wing rotation. And ultimately he's not all that useful as a wing that can't shoot a lick. He's Royce with worse size and shooting but with better playmaking.

He is a point guard.
I said it in his 2nd season (3rd year) - if this narrative and belief forms that Exum is an NBA wing, he will be playing for the Sydney Kings by the end of his second contract.

Running an offense? Can you think of a more horrendous fit for Exum?
Anyway, talk is cheap. He has done a lot of sucking.

What sucks most is most people on here think he has had 'plenty of chances'. I have seen looser leashes on rottweilers around toddlers.

Except he couldn't have passed it - there was only 1.6 seconds left on the shot clock when he caught it (the video seems to carefully avoid showing the shot clock). The shot clock actually expires while the ball is in the air. Whatever Quin is reacting to, it isn't that he didn't pass the ball - shooting was his only option.

So we should just not play him? What kind of ignorant logic is that?

I didn't say we should not play him. I said playing him, when he is making continual defensive errors, will not increase his value.

Did you guys learn anything from the Burks experience? He was raw, had injuries, showed potential, got a contract he didnt earn, never got consistent minutes and got traded with 2nds for Korver. Either play him or dump him. Well, you can't dump him until January so play him until then. Sitting him is dumb.

Snyder's job is to win games, not justify sunk costs.

Lol. Et tu Quin?

I get all that. However, you can't say that Quin playing Exum is costing them wins. Its not like Rubio has earned 30mpg. Exum is playing better than Thabo who has played 9mpg the last 10 games. I'm a big O'Neale fan, but he hasn't outplayed Exum to the level that forces Exum to the bench for all of his minutes.

If we had guys CLEARLY playing better than Exum, then I'm all for planting him on the bench. That simply is not the case.

This is a business and we need to be playing Exum whether we want to keep him past the deadline or not. Sitting him is bad for business now and the next few years.

Brutal Rubio play is still better than anything Exum provides. Even when Rubios shots are not falling at least he gets offense going. Exum on the other hand ****s everything.
Seriously, I am almost secretly wishing that Rubio would get some minor injury so Exum would get a chance to show how badly he sucks for few weeks at least. And after we would go on 2-10 or something record maybe all these Exum homers would finally leave this site or stop preaching him as not a bust...

My understanding is the Exum is not playing within the defensive schemes. It's not a matter of who is out-playing him, it's a matter of playing in the team concept.

Perhaps emphasizing the importance of the team concepts is more important for business than futile attempts to puff up Exum's value?

So now you are trying to say Exum is intentionally playing outside of the team concepts? On purpose?

Rubio has played better than Exum, but there are many times Rubio is total trash on both ends of the court. And we don't win or lose based off of Rubio's play just like we haven't won or lost based on Exum's play.

It just takes some common sense that you have to play Exum to get rid of Exum. When Chicago wanted to trade Mirotic, they played him. When LA wanted to trade Clarkson, they played him. When we wanted to trade Hood, we played him. Even this year, when we wanted to trade Burks, we played him.

Common sense - if you want Exum gone - play him so we can trade him.

Exum definitely isnt a PG.

He could have passed it if he whipped it right when the ball came to him w/ an accurate pass to the shooting pocket. You only need .3 seconds to shoot it and Korver has a lighting fast shot.
