Jabari Parker

Really? I'd say our our whole identity is terrible shooting at this point. I'd rather take a flyer on a potential offensive contributor than worry about our D.

You do realize that Parker is shooting .29% from 3 this season, right? So we'd be trading for a guy that's shooting the same percentage from 3 as Favors and Exum and even worse than Rubio, Mitchell and Crowder. He's not gonna help our shooting and he'd completely kill our defense when on the floor.

The question is more about whose long-ball the defense will respect more.

Because Exum sucks too. It's one man's trash for another's. Can it get worse than what we have gotten out of Exum? Plus jabaris contract expires at the end of the season. Worst case you shed the Exum 3 year commitment for a rental/tryout of a 20 ppg player. We suck at scoring if you didnt notice.

I'm on board for this. I just don't have faith in Exum at this point. He's been decent at penetration scoring but that's gonna get him injured sooner or later. Who knows, maybe Jabari gets a fire lit under his ***. If not we at least can use Exum's cash on someone else.

Here's a great stat (and I'm not saying Parker is the answer). The Jazz are DEAD LAST in the NBA in scoring points in the 4th quarter.

I personally think the rumour is legit. We're struggling on offense right now and he's available. It's not hard to make a connection.

My beef isn't with thinking that Jabari isn't the answer. My beef is thinking that our current squad + time is the answer to our offensive ills.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that the current squad + time is the answer. We obviously need to add a third piece to go with Mitchell and Gobert. I think a lot of us are just hoping we can do better than someone who's awful on defense and doesn't even think it's important to play defense, has had two major knee injuries, is shooting 29% from 3 and has had some attitude problems. I'm not saying we don't need some help but I definitely don't think Jabari is the answer. I mean, his last two teams have completely given up on him, and it only took the Bulls two months and now he's completely out of the rotation and they're looking to trade him. I get that we're all growing impatient with the offense but we can do better than Jabari.

Yeah, I should have added a qualifier. I don't think anyone here is saying that, and I don't think the front office is necessarily saying that, but with each move we've let come and go since Mirotic, we're essentially saying that our current squad is the answer -- because that's what we have to default on. If we decide to "keep the powder" dry for another year, we continue to say that the current squad is the answer, because that's what it translates to.

This is a misarticulation or what has been reported, though. The stated strategy hasn't been 'keep the powder dry for a future move', it's 'keep the powder dry for 2019 free agency'. Should free agency come and go with this statement rearticulated in more vague terms, then this is a fair critique, but that's not yet the case. You can't judge a strategy as failed when the specified target hasn't even happened yet.

Yeah, but my argument has been that we’re really setting this up to be a pretty black and white succeed or fail, with little in between. And the guys we’re looking at include a guy we already passed on because we thought there may be greener pastures elsewhere.

What happened to the Jazz DNA lol? This dude is the exact opposite. One could argue he played for Jason Kidd and then one of league's worst clubs so he might perhaps shine in the right environment if given the chance. I highly doubt it though. He stinks. Besides what we need is a reliable PG who can shot ala George Hill, minus the softness of course. And Favors seems like our third best player and dealing him for trash would be a mistake.

Im not really a parker advocate. He's shooting poorly from 3 this year. He did shoot 38% and 37% from 3 the previous 2 years though... not sure which is the outlier, this year or the previous ones.

He's about the same age as exum too, who is also a victim of multiple serious injuries. Just not sure I want him.

OL he is garbage. There is less than zero chance that we're after him.

If we get Parker i'll firstly vomit in my mouth and then i'll change my handle to "OL's bitch"
