As I've said before, we agree on most things re: Kanter. However, you cannot simply have hindsight .. look;
- Kanter left Turkey to come play one year of prep ball, one year of college ball, and then the NBA.
- His family felt that did everything necessary to protect his amateur status to accomplish the above.
- He played a year of HS ball.
- He committed to play for the Washington Huskies.
- He changed his mind and decided to play for UK.
- His eligibility was challenged by the NCAA (and even Mark Emmert said, publicly - initially - that he thought Enes would be cleared to play with a small suspension).
- He lost his case.
- Case was appealed.
- Case was lost.
- Kanter was asked publicly what he wanted to do. He said, I wanted to play bb for the Univ. of Kentucky, but now that I can't, I want to finish out my year, helping out my teammates anyway I can, and then enter the NBA draft.
I have seen Kanter, in MANY conversations, express his love for Turkey and his life/experiences there. He's represented your country very well. I just think he came here with an idea, it didn't work, and had to establish a plan 'b.' That plan was to sit tight and wait for the draft .. and while doing so, workout with UK bigs and stay in shape at a state-of-the-art practice facility.
