Could the Jazz punt on this summer's free agency?

Lopo's instance on being intellectually dishonest is incredible.

Somehow trading a first rounder for a starting PG isnt aggressive, but signing a 30 year old career backup to a MLE deal is.

Wait, didn't we do that last year TWICE when we signed Jerebko and Thabo? Or the year before when we signed Joe Johnson? If that's you standard for an aggressive move, DL has been out here like Mike Tyson.

I fail to see what I did to upset you. Cy and I were disputing the definition of aggressive.

I apologize if I said anything to upset you. Honestly. All my efforts go into finding solutions, not trying to step on toes.
I’m not upset at you. I am laughing at you. And shaking my head. And then logging out of jazzfanz.

Do you actually hit the logout button? Seems like a lot of work.

We can disagree. It's okay Cy.

In MY OPINION, trading a 1st rounder for already proven, but average NBA point guard isn't aggressive. It's a safe attempt at making sure you get a guy who can contribute not be a major difference. I think it's more aggressive to sign or trade for a player who hasn't shown all his cards of what he can or can't be.

Rozier, Randle, Bjelica, etc. etc. are aggressive moves. We knew what Thabo was. We know what Crowder is. What Korver is. Rubio had been a professional for what 10 years when we got him last year? George Hill too.

Hiding behind the Rubio or Hill deals for DL being "aggressive" is pretty lame. Signing Thabo, Jerekbo or Joe Johnson is not aggressive. We knew what they were.

Another example of being aggressive vs not being aggressive.

Toronto was aggressive for trading signed DeRozan for expiring but better Kawhi. Another is Philadelphia trading two good role players for expiring Butler. Those are aggressive, ambitious moves.

Trading for Rubio or Hill using a first is not what this team needs. We need to trade expirings and multiple 1st rounders to get a player to build upon our core.

Holy **** man. How much are you going to move the goal post for your definition of aggressive?

You can't possibly believe your own BS.

Trading a first for an expiring (you made a point to point out Butler/Leonard where expiring as to why it was aggressive) George Hill, who then had a career year in Utah wasnt aggressive because "we knew what he was"? Bitch he was incredible before his toe injury. Did you know he was going to do that? Be ****ing honest with your lying *** self.

Did you know Ricky Rubio would have a career year and lead us in a playoff series with a triple double? Did you know all this?

But then you say trading for Jimmy Butler is aggressive? Don't we know what Jimmy Butler is? So if you followed your own flimsy logic that isnt an aggressive move cuz we all know what Jimmy is.

30-yr old Bjelica is an unknown commodity with loads of untapped potential. He should have been signed, and then promised a starting job before putting on the jersey

Aggressive

Maybe aggressive isn't the word... active is maybe more the word. There may be deals that appear to be re-arranging deck chairs that pan out. No GM will be active/aggressive enough for some posters. I would just like a little more mining for value parts.

This stuff is hard... Bjelica is the big example... for every Bjelica there are 10 CJ Miles signings, so we likely would have missed. This season is just really frustrating and it's tough to wait and watch when you think some of the warts could have been addressed and some could be addressed but we likely wait.

It does seem like Middleton back to Milwaukee is not as big of a done deal as I thought. They have the 5 year max as the hammer, but there has been some smoke that Khris may not stay there. I don't think we are the leader in the clubhouse, but i think we'd be in that convo... Lakers/Dallas likely ahead of us on the list.

Jimmy Butler is an All Star. He is a damn good player. He takes Philly to an extra level. George Hill, even when playing great with us, was still a bottom half of the NBA PG. Rubio, even in his career year, still an average NBA PG.

Hill got hurt. Boohoo, still matters. Then he left. Rubio sucked first half last year and this year and got hurt when it mattered. Boohoo, still matters.

Nobody thought or thinks Rubio was an X Factor in getting us to contenders. Getting him was a meh move because we failed with the Hill experiment. Now that we have a good core and a solid bench, we need to be ACTIVE AND AGGRESSIVE to get our starters help to take that next step.

I'm tired of the mediocrity you seem so fine with. You are so happy with our defense against Orlando but you don't realize we sucked overall.

LoPo is one week away from putting on a swingman jersey and running out on the floor to take things into his own hands.

It’ll say “PRICE” on the back and be baby blue. That’s the last time he had $50 for a knockoff

You don’t suck when the defense is at a high level, that’s how you keep games close. DO we need more offense, yes, but this ain’t NBA2k.

So you changed your logic again?

Just say you don't like the moves DL has made. Don't attach some BS qualifier like he hasnt been aggressive.
