Rubio will never have Dante's athleticism.
These stats are completely out of context for me..
Kinda disagree here, I think that power drive he had on the Knicks (Mudiay?) showed that he's not all that weak, he just has little to no idea on how to use that strength effectively. He's not strong by any sense of the word but I'm hesitant to call him weak.Dante is quick, but do not try to sell his athleticism. He is average athlete at best, weak and with beyond average vertical jumping ability.
OK lets say his is average in strength. Have you seen anybody else land on the floor after little contact during drives to the basket as much as Dante? He is pretty much knocked on the floor 9 out of 10 layup attempts. Is this weakness or lack of coordination? Coordination is part of overall athleticism as well and Dante sometimes looks like uncoordinated muppet doll.Kinda disagree here, I think that power drive he had on the Knicks (Mudiay?) showed that he's not all that weak, he just has little to no idea on how to use that strength effectively. Dante's speed and length is such that he has a notable advantage over most NBA players. That's all I was saying. Kyle Korver even recently said that he hasn't seen very many players with the ability to get to the rim like Dante. It's a component of athleticism, but I agree that he isn't a great vertical athlete/leaper. Both things can be true. If you have a big enough advantage in one aspect of athleticism you can leverage that into a dominant skill. Tony Parker did that for years without being a great vertical athlete. Exum has that kind of athleticism with his speed and length combination.Dante is quick, but do not try to sell his athleticism. Kyle Lowry is also out, pretty nice break for the Jazz.
Nope. I'm just saying that I am skeptical of stats that are so convoluted. I'm skeptical of lots of stats that are simple as well, or how they are applied even if I like them. When you are presented with these specific numbers in the tweet I doubt very many people understand how they are constructed. So I just think it's not very responsible to use them unless you understand them. Please elaborate on the details of exactly how they get the numbers if you have a grasp of it.So you cherry pick stats that are making sense for your cause but these which support what most of us are saying for years are out of context for you. Ok.
