What's new

How much should we be talking about Donovan?

That's because they don't. Collapsing on him when he drives and letting him shoot from 3 is a pretty generic plan.
Yet we have seen tweets and read articles about Dante staying after practice, putting in extra work on his finishing and shooting, and the results of this are starting to show on the court. The time and opportunity has been there if DM wants to work on his game, but he'd rather consult with adidas about his clown shoes.

What practices? Jazz are rarely in Utah. Even when they have a home game they head right back on the road. Dante SHOULD be working after games because up until lately he was getting little playing time.

But yes, I expect Dante to explode for the very reasons that I think have been holding Mitchell back along with getting some burn with a defined role in the offense. I also predict that we will be making fun of the people who were trying to trade Favors for a bag of chips as well.

Don will be fine. Along with continuing to develope into the team’s best player, he’s the best hope we have to actually recruit somebody decent to come to Utah to try to win a championship with him. Also why I think it’s critical to keep Rudy and Jingles. Those guys are the kind of guys other players want to team up with.

It’s part of being a star and contracts he has signed. It’s a great thing for him and the Jazz. To imply Donovan doesn’t work hard is as ridiculous of an implication as I’ve read on here. But sure, you’re some dumbass fan on an Internet forum so you must know. Donovan is struggling shooting, and really that’s it. He’s fine, he will be fine, and shoe deals and **** like that will play a large roll in the future success of this franchise. You may not understand how big getting a signature shoe is, especially being basically the first player, and so quickly, to get one with the Jazz. Yes the basketball is the most important part of it all, he’s smart, he knows that. And he will be just fine.

A lot of posters have also not taken into account that opposing teams are game planning specifically to dial in on DM and make his night as difficult as possible. He is having to adjust on the fly and learn to play at a high level with the added attention. Like a few have said already, once he figures that part out, the flood gates will open again.

I for one have no real issues with his game play given the tasks that he's been given by his coach and our still major lack of shooting or play makers/creators on the team.

Ive been telling posters here this since last year when he was ballin hard and people started talking like he was going be a top ten player next year. HE will be fine. HE is what 21 years old? ImAgine how good he will be when he is 27. I would set the line at age 25.5 he makes his first a'll star game.

I hope they enjoy their fools gold while they can, because once he figures them out. The league is over. Spida is going to reck the league.

Reck the league? So you think he is a once and generation talent? Those only type who Reck the league. He is going be a solid player. Maybe a top 20 player but it's very very possible even if he maxes out his talent thAt he is in the 25 to 50 range because there is some very talented players in the league right now and there is a bunch of young players you could put in same category as mitchell. To me Mitchell needs another
Star by him. He be best off being the 2nd go to guy and a team like Utah needs to have 3 top 50 players with solid glue guys and bench guys. They could be a top 5 western conference team then. Denver Nuggets future is far brighter then Jazz but no reason jazz can't be a little behind them and please don't anyone try telling me Utah futures brighter then Nuggets cuz I'll stone cold start breaking it down player by player and talk about how Denver has nailed the draft recently and Utah other then Mitchell has had some bust.

I'm over Exum/Rubio debates, lets talk Mitchell some more.

When do we start to get worried about Mitchell for the playoffs if he's still struggling? Post ASB?

Shhhhhh........don't start any controversies. Jazz fans like to live in their little utopia of rainbows and butterflies. Land of the golden plates, ya know.

Mitchell has had more makes than misses only one time in his last 10 games and only 8 times all season

Hes made more than missed less than a quarter of games this year. Last year he did it 18 of 79 games (22% of the time).

Maybe this is who he is.

Here’s the thing. I wouldn’t expect anything amazing this season. I think he’s going to be up and down and struggle this season. Which is fine. Ina few years he will be incredible. Patience is the only answer. Some expected too much too fast. This may not end up being the season we all thought it was. It wouldn’t be the worst thing to get a decent draft pick at some point soon before he is at his peak.
