What's new

Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

He's shooting his way into the Nets rotation. Definitely a player we wish we could've had at the moment

If he stays healthy, he's like a more athletic version of Dario Saric. His shooting also improved. His handle is a bit clunky though.

Wut?

He's not like Saric imo. He's been the guy they put on the other team's best wing player defensively.

This draft is weak overall. I think Reddish going be a better pro then RJ. Zion I'm staying mute on. There no one like him and there always injuries. DeJaun Blair was undersized beast and wasn't same after he blew out his knees.
Reddish is completely overwhelmed and overmatched by college basketball. He is absolutely horrendous in nearly every aspect of the game. He should be playing d3- and I'm being completely serious. Give him 2 or 3 years, he might improve, the game might slow down for him. He's long, athletic and has a good stroke. The physical part is there. But for now scrubs are making him look silly. He can barely compete out there.

I watched that Joe Wieskamp yesterday. He actually does look pretty promising. Not sure I agree with him being a surefire NBA player, but he is someone to keep an eye on next year.

Part of that account has a soft spot for the Hawkeyes

MArkus Howard becomes the first player in 20+ seasons to have multiple 50-point games. Unreal showing vs Creighton, closing them out in style with a barrage of difficult 3's in OT.

Ochai Agbaji is a kid to keep an eye on at Kansas. 6'5" they just removed his redshirt today. He looks like a freak athlete.

So ESPN updated their draft mock today. The following is my review and interpretation of how they propose the draft should unfold through the top 21 picks:

1 Zion Williamson (CLE)
2 RJ Barrett (PHX)
3 Nassir Little (ATL) -- They moved him way up. I thought he was supposed to go in the teens.
4 Ja Morant (CHI) -- Another riser.
5 Cam Reddish (NYK)
6 Romeo Langford (WAS)
7 Darius Garland (ORL) -- Big rise.
8 Jarrett Culver (MEM) -- Pretty big rise.
9 Keldon Johnson (BOS/SAC)
10 Sekou Doumbouya (ATL/DAL)
11 Kevin Porter (MIN)
12 Deandre Hunter (DET)
13 Rui Hachimura (BRK)
14 Jaxson Hayes (NOP) -- Pretty big rise.
15 Bol Bol (CHA) -- Sizable drop, but we're talking about a 7'3" big with a stress fracture in his foot.
16 Jontay Porter (LAL)
17 Nickeil Alexander-Walker (MIA)
18 PJ Washington (BOS/LAC) -- Really?
19 KZ Okpala (POR)
20 Luguentz Dort (SAS) -- I think this is a bit low for him, but who knows...
21 Daniel Gafford (UTA)

ESPN has Quentin Grimes going in the 2nd round. I think he's a definite first-round talent. I kinda like him for the Jazz in the early 20s.

Illinois is outmatched vs Michigan but Ayo Dosunmu is having an excellent game. If he stays and they land Kofi Cockburn next season they'll be their most dangerous since the Deron Years..

Keep an eye on Colorado's Tyler Bey, sleeper sophomore with obvious NBA tools defensively. Career high 26 points tonight. He's 6'7" but is grabbing nearly 10 boards per game in just 25 mins. Passes the eye test with ease, obvious NBA athlete/build.

Gotta give Grimes credit for transforming himself into a good hustle guy after he realized he couldn't do anything at the college level. If he gets drafted in round two he'll be lucky. Average to poor athlete, average to poor shooter, poor length for a SG, slow. Very good and willing passer and can defend. But not an NBA player. Until he started making hustle plays he was pretty much the worst player on his team that got PT.
