In the mock trade deadline podcast, Danny Leroux acting as Jazz GM said the Jazz would be more interested in Jrue and asked Kevin Pelton (acting as NOP GM) for a trade, but he was quickly shut down lol. Makes sense that NOP wants to stay relevant and retool around Jrue plus whatever assets they get. I honestly think I'd rather take that Knicks offer than what Boston will realistically offer. Porzingis+top 5 pick has a good chance of being better than Tatum and a Memphis pick or something. If nothing else, it'll drive up the offer that Boston has to make.

People talk all the time about how you can't send 4 quarters for dollar. If we are talking about Kuzma, Lonzo, Ingram, Tatum and Porzingis, I think Porzingis is the closest thing to a dollar followed closely by Tatum. If you also consider that NOLA could also get Zion or RJ Barrett too, I don't know why the Pelicans are even thinking about an offer from LA or Boston. LA can't send a lottery pick and Boston can't send a pick inside the top 10 until maybe 2021 (Memphis).

Porzingis, Hardaway, C. Lee, and NY's 2019 unprotected 1st
for
AD and Wesley Johnson

We gotta go get Mirotic. NOLA has to shed players to make roster spots for the impending Laker deal. KCP has a no trade clause and he reportedly won't accept a trade to NOLA.

So to get AD, the Lakers will have to send a number of small contracts (Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram, Zubac and guys like Beasley, Stephenson, Wagner). NBA rules state you have to have a roster spot for every player accepted.

“Over the weekend, I had heard from two separate teams that Mirotic, Randle and Moore had all been made available for picks," Lowe said.

The only issue I have is Favs would likely have to go for Niko. Favs as a backup 5 has been awesome. If you could talk him into backup duty so you could start Niko (finish with Crowder when defense is more important) that'd be great... but then you have a couple/few guys competing and auditioning for the spot next year. Guys playing for serious money and time didn't go well for Niko last time around...

If he was healthy it'd be another thing I guess, but if we got Niko I'd also want to address backup center.

If Favors loves being here and loves being a member of this organization and wants to be part of winning a title here, he should accept the role. He has only averaged 15 minutes per game the last 9 2nd round playoff games. He is such an asset, but mainly as a backup to Gobert once we play the great teams.

If he wasn't making above market value for a guy playing less than 24mpg, I would feel for him. However, we paid him quite well this summer. So if we get Mirotic to provide the much needed floor spacer, then Favors can accept a few less minutes per game. And we could rest Gobert more as we get closer to the playoffs.

I really think we can get Mirotic for Thabo and a combination of Udoh, Niang, Bradley and even Neto. Add in a couple 2nd rounders, and I think NOLA would bite. They are probably holding out for a 1st, but who is sending that for an injured expiring PF?

I'd hope that Bradley will be ready for that role next year. If not, then trade for a developmental prospect like Thon that can play 15-18 MPG behind Rudy. Losing Favors is going to really hurt our bench unit, and I'm with you, we need a good replacement.

I honestly don't think Bradley is ever going to be an NBA player.

I would certainly not ever plan on it... it he surprised me then great.

I get it... but he's a free agent... keeping Niko means his option ain't getting picked up. While he made some extra dough and is a chill dude it's still a lot of money and he's human.

I do think Philly would do a little more for Niko... in the dunc'd on pod he went for a 1st to portland... Harkless went to Sacramento, so there were other parts. We likely have cash and some cap space we can eat, but our seconds are high 40s or low 50s... not much value there.

If we get Niko, I'm resurrecting the hundred page Niko thread.
