2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Hard to kill DL for a late first round pick miss, but...

Had we gone for Hart, White, or anyone with a little value... that prospect plus our 1st gets us in the neighborhood for Saric or something a little better.

the rationale behind the pick never made sense to me.

Yeah, I hate the Bradley and Grayson picks. Having said that post-grayson looks crappy so far. But Hart would have been better than Bradley by a lot. I had hoped we could land Kuzma, but he went the pick before.

Satoransky or keeping Rubio.

Tobias or keeping Favs.

While also making a push for high upside players like Oubre and Portis.

That should be our summer strategy.

Not before we make a few calls.

Like to Klay Thompson or Kawhi.

But realistically I think we should look at Terry Rozier

Realistic Satoransky is better all around than Rozier but yeah I agree. Getting established stars is never a part of this franchise‘s history. We always look to sign up and comers and turn then into stars here. Like what we did with Boozer/Okur 15 years ago. We haven't had much of success in the past decade, but we really need to this summer

Sincere question: what does Rubio bring to this team that is irreplaceable? His 33% from the three? His three free throw attempts? 6 assist? 12 points? His 2-1 assist to turnovers ratio?

I mean the guys is a class act and as far as character is everything you want in a guy. But as far as being a basketball player I don't see anything that leads me to believe he's anything but average and a weak link.

He crushed it in the final months and into the playoffs last season. We don't make it past OKC without his stellar play.

Y'all give me a hard time, but I have a feeling DL makes more pro-Jazz trade offers to other GMs than I present on here.

I can just imagine the conversation:

DL - "we are so close here. so what else do you need?"

GM - "how about Exum?"

DL - "can't do it. key to our future."

GM - "Grayson?"

DL - "can't, he has our DNA."

GM - "Bradley?"

DL - "huge key to our future"

GM - "what about Thabo?"

DL - "we see him as a mentor and future coach"

GM - "okay..... Udoh?"

DL - "have you seen his book club? Epke is simply untradeable"

DL - "hello? hello?"

I consider myself an Exum Hive Hater, but we got to put some respect on what Exum can do. DL was smart to value him.

I don't think he's some future star, but he can make a leap.
I too am an Exum hater. Funny that I always wanted him to play over shelvin mack and even Rubio though.
Would be good to have as many minutes as possible for X at this point in his career (minutes would obviously still be limited by injuries) to know more about what type of player we have.
As it stands no one has any clue.

I know the FO works really hard and puts in a lot of hours and personal sacrifice around the deadline, but I’d like to officially recognize all the members of JFC who have contributed their time and talents and sacrificed a lot of family time to continue this trade discussion.

Memphis delusion of what they have is going to cost them getting anything in return for guys that clearly don't fit their direction anymore. It's not anyones fault but their own that they waited too long to let go of Conley and Gasol when the whole league saw that team had capped out long ago.

If the Jazz give in, they will be clowns. Stick to the original offer and if they pass, wish them luck and move on to other targets.

They traded Gasol and have plenty of time on Conley.

Still don't understand how this has become a referendum on Exum. Why exactly do we think he was considered untouchable and/or sandbagged potential deals? Not being sarcastic -- can someone explain?
