2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I consider myself an Exum Hive Hater, but we got to put some respect on what Exum can do. DL was smart to value him.

I don't think he's some future star, but he can make a leap.
I too am an Exum hater. Funny that I always wanted him to play over shelvin mack and even Rubio though.
Would be good to have as many minutes as possible for X at this point in his career (minutes would obviously still be limited by injuries) to know more about what type of player we have.
As it stands no one has any clue.

I know the FO works really hard and puts in a lot of hours and personal sacrifice around the deadline, but I’d like to officially recognize all the members of JFC who have contributed their time and talents and sacrificed a lot of family time to continue this trade discussion.

Memphis delusion of what they have is going to cost them getting anything in return for guys that clearly don't fit their direction anymore. It's not anyones fault but their own that they waited too long to let go of Conley and Gasol when the whole league saw that team had capped out long ago.

If the Jazz give in, they will be clowns. Stick to the original offer and if they pass, wish them luck and move on to other targets.

They traded Gasol and have plenty of time on Conley.

Still don't understand how this has become a referendum on Exum. Why exactly do we think he was considered untouchable and/or sandbagged potential deals? Not being sarcastic -- can someone explain?

There was a report that Exum was a sticking point in the Conley negotiations.

There's a realistic path to the WCF this season for this team if they can avoid the Warriors. Nobody else is a juggernaut, unlike last season. Y'all need to calm the hell down.
I want turn believe than but after the way we started and what we have done recently against good teams I figure we are what we are. Which is about the 7th best team in the West or so. Just a few weeks ago when DM was our point guard and we were on that big winning streak against bad competition I was believing we were top 4.

Those 2 HUGE games recently really decreased my optimism though.

Maybe they will destroy the Spurs in the next game and give me some more hope

Really the problem here is that DL didnt read enough of @LoPos trade ideas. Probably should keep making them until he takes notice of the great ideas.

We have a team that can make some noise this year. If healthy we are built for the playoffs. There is no reason to make a trade if its not a good deal, just to make a trade. The asking price of a lot of players was very high. Players got traded for way more than people were suggesting in here. It makes sense why we didnt make some moves.

If I had any confidence at all in us making a huge free agent signing I wouldn't be disappointed that we didn't make a move, but I don't. We just had so many expiring contracts this year that it feels like a real wasted opportunity not to make a trade.
At least we might lose those expirings for nothing this summer though. At least there's that
