What's new

How much would you offer Malcolm Brogdon this summer?

No. Harris isn't obtainable. He's staying in Philly. Why would he come here when he can play with Embiid/Simmons/Butler in a weaker eastern conference and be in Finals contention every year?

Middleton is not obtainable either. He'll be #1 on the Bucks priority list. And again, its a situation where you have to ask why would he leave his current situation to come here. Milwaukee is probably going to the eastern conference finals this year. Maybe the Finals. He's going to leave? Not a chance.

The only max-ish players we have a chance at imo are...

Kemba Walker: If the Hornets fall apart again and he looks at other options. It's a longshot he would choose us over somewhere else. But maybe DL and DM can sell a good pitch.

Malcolm Brogdon: If we overpay we might get it done. The Bucks are going to be in a rough cap situation

Terry Rozier: Again, if we overpay we might get it done. The Celtics are going to be focused on adding a star like AD and retaining Kyrie. I don't think that they match a large offer for Terry.

He is the most realistic of this group.
Here is our Rozier competition (teams with more than the MLE to spend this summer):

Knicks - NOPE
Clippers - MAYBE
Nets - NOPE
Hawks - NOPE
Mavs - NOPE
Pacers - NOPE
Lakers - MAYBE
Kings - NOPE
Suns - INTERESTED
Bulls - MAYBE

Magic - NOPE
Pelicans - NOPE
Celtics - if Irving leaves, then Rozier stays

If we wanted Rozier, it comes down to Boston, Phoenix, Chicago, the LA teams (should they strike out on bigger targets), and us.

I really think the Jazz need to look for a bigger star, as in size. Mitchell is tiny and inefficient. Rudy is huge and offensively challenged. We should be looking at someone 6'9 or bigger. Now that Griffin can shoot threes, I think the Jazz should try to find a way to get someone like that. They need to be able to play bully ball and shoot. Whoever they target, no one is off limit but Mitchell/Rudy. Joe Ingles is a nice piece, but certainly not untradeable. He has the ability to really disappear (see houston series as example). Brogdon would be fine though at under 20m, as he has consistently shown the ability to shoot and create. I'd much rather see him shooting the shots Ricky/Oneale/Crowder get.

I really like Brogdon. He’s gotten pretty damn good at getting to the rim with no-flash, straight line drives. Simple move, and go. Shades of Stockton, actually. Good 3-pt shooter.

I’m surprised to hear people say he’s clearly a max player, though.

I’m wicked curious to see what he gets paid. Would love to have him.

All of that competition for poor man's Rubio? Thank God.

People really this high on Malcolm Brogdon?

Lonzo Ball would be nice.

If you're trying to ruin the team. We'd get so much negative publicity because of Ball Senior, I think the trust would sell the team to Seattle within 2 years.

He would literally be trashing Mitchell every single day, simply for being a media darling.

Rozier is a better 5 year prospect than Rubio and I don't think it's close. He plays better D and he is a threat from 3. He doesn't run the offense as well as Rubio, but I fully expect Donovan to be running our offense more and more as he evolves.

But I'm not even that big on adding Rozier. Personally, I hope that Exum becomes a better version of Rozier and Rubio takes a big pay cut to stay as the leader of the bench unit.

Brogdon is not going to happen.

Rozier would be such an underwhelming addition. 50% TS, 13 PER, not really a "floor general", and not good enough offensively to take the load off of Mitchell playing off ball. And he'll probably demand just as big a contract as Rubio.

We'll see if the situation with Holiday changes. I know NO are being idiotic right now, but a lot of things can change in 6 months. The Jazz should be looking for a top 10 PG/SG to team up with Mitchell. Not just replace Rubio with someone who might, or might not, turn out to be better.

We don't. That guy is offensively inept, with a worse TS% than Rubio. Besides that, he's 6'1", not ideal to put next to 6'2" DM.
