Game Thread - Spurs @ Jazz 3 PM MTN

Andy Larsen at the SLTrib asked Ricky abour the early start, this was his response .

But Rubio really appreciated this early start for perhaps the most heartbreaking reason possible.

“It’s great, because when I finish the game, everybody’s on their phones getting messages from their friends and family. I only have one from my dad,” Rubio said. “Sometimes he falls asleep, but I don’t blame him.”

Poor Rick. He ought to know there are pkenty of Jazz fans willing to be his friend or even adopt him as part of the family.

You know what would be perfection? What would be creme ****ing brulee? A packet of Peter Stuyvesants Classics.
I don't know what those are but they make me want a smoke

What in the hell are you talking about?

This team's core has been through the playoffs once.
Yes, as it stands. Same team, same stuff, expecting different results? That's insanity. Do you think this is a championship team as it stands? I don't.

1. The team isnt the same. The two feature players (Gobert and Mitchell) are both young and improving year to year
2. You can't claim "definition of insanity is trying something over and over..." because 1. That's a stupid thing that is completely wrong and misquoted and 2. They have tried it once. They've been through the playoffs once. So even your stupid fake quote doesnt apply here.

I was working yesterday (10 hour shift) when this game started and then had some things going on last night and so i was unable to watch it but i did record it. I watched it today while at work (its a slow day) and there was lots of good and very little bad happening in this game.
Mike Smith was awesome imo and works well with Boler.
Ingles, Ricky, Gobert, and oneal were all fantastic while Mitchell was his typical self (maybe a little above his usual), Neto was solid like usual, and crowder was a little underwhelming but hit some big threes and played well all around. Crowder did badly miss quite a few very very wide open threes. Favors missed a few easy ones and went to the line and missed both on one trip. Worst possession of the game was a play early on when DeRozan got hurt and was down forever and the jazz got favors a wide open three (basically a turnover) which he of course missed but the jazz got the offensive rebound and got ricky a wide open three which he missed. While playing 4 on 5 they should be able to get something better than that.
Morgan jewelers play of the game was ricky over the shoulder flip pass to gobert for a dunk and that was a good play but i liked the Spida off the glass to rudy dunk, and the ricky lob to gobert backwards dunk better.

After listening to Mike Smith tonight, with my best Reggie Miller impression = "Dennis Lindsey, Quin Snyder... Sign this guy for the rest of the season!! He has proven his worth!!"
2nd time I've heard him on the broadcast and he's my favorite of the guys they have used. Fire Harpring, and replace him with Smith.

Oh! That guy wasn't Harpring? Kinda sounded like him, but I kept thinking that his voice sounded a bit off and his comments were waaay better.

Jazz play once in the next 10 days.
Trade deadline is past.
Months away from draft.
Piles of snow outside, and I don't ski.

What am I going to do with my time?
Pay attention to any females (or males-whichever you prefer) that you've been neglecting to watch the games.

I seriously can't stand that dumb fake definition of insanity that people throw around like it came from the mouth of the Buddha or some ****.

Mike Smith sounds like Matt Harping minus the goofiness. I guess it's better, but the Jazz would probably have one of the more dull announcer duos in the NBA.
Yeah, he's solid enough from a basketball knowledge pov, but as a "color" guy he really doesn't have much in the way of personality.

For whatever reason, Mike Smith reminds me of this guy:

I'd say his goofiness is on par or worse than fry sauce dude.
