What's new

Dante has been out forever because he ded

I think OKC is significantly better than last year. Aside from Mitchell, their Melo was our best player. We relied on them playing Melo throughout the series to hog the ball, chuck up some crap, and play really terrible defense. Just getting rid of him and giving Grant, an unselfish role player more burn improves their roster and makes them a more formidable matchup. OKC has upgraded with Schroder and Morris (if he ever becomes healthy). I haven't watched too much of them lately, but I imagine they could playing RW and DS in the backcourt at times and give teams fits. Right?

If implemented against us, RW and DS offers them an incredibly explosive backcourt that RR and DMC would have to respect defensively while giving them the best chance to shut DM down. I don't know how often Donovan has gone to this, but they could remove Adams and potentially go small (Nellie style) with Grant and Morris and force Gobert out to the perimeter, giving driving lanes to their perimeter players. That would force us to either leave Gobert out there trying to cover perimeter players or reserve him only for when Adams is in. Some teams have gone small against us and have done so with great success since Gobert is not yet a dominant offensive player. I can't remember which team did it recently (maybe Portland) but I remember they went small and it forced Gobert away from the basket while we were unable to take advantage offensively. This must be the next step in Gobert's evolution.

I think OKC would be a very tough series 6-7 game series with our margin for error being much less than theirs. George and Westbrook are two superstars with a host of good role players. Adams, Grant, and Schroder are all really good players. If Grant was on our roster he potentially could be that stretch 4 we need and if Schroder was on our roster he'd probably start.

Their FO has done a good job in keeping them competitive when it looked like their window of opportunity had slammed shut. Honestly, OKC is one of those teams that I can see making a run this year if their superstars really step up and one of their role players get hot. My money is on Grant. He could have a very Trevor Ariza like playoff run this year and could become that 3rd scorer they need. If that happens, they're as good as anyone besides GS.

Do we really wanna see those guys in the first round? I certainly don’t. They match up exceptionally well against us. In a best of 7 series, a superstar like paul George can take over, get all the whistles, and end us.

Can we start calling him Glass now ?

Uhhh Jazz played the Warriors not Mavericks that series. Your Alzheimer's is acting up again.

Minor technicality. I am guilty of that mistake. We're all human. My point was the year of Arroyo was not as incredible as you claim it was and if Arroyo is your hero, you really should re-evaluate your hero's. The 2007 Jazz went to the Western Conference Finals losing to the Spurs and that was a better team than the beloved Arroyo-led Jazz.

Dude stop smoking so much weed it affects memory. Jazz beat GSW in semis not Dallas.
My point is Dante never did anything close to Arroyo. Or you have some data, stats, results, etc to prove me wrong?

Again, it was a minor technicality and you get my point. I'm human and I happened to make a mistake. Just like your mother did when she brought you and your 13 bastard siblings into this world. Carlos Arroyo may be your idea of a leader, but most would say that he's not quite the mountain moving God that you claim him to be. That's my point! I'm just expressing how I see it, calm down little boy.

Cause it's better to be positive. Some people like you just like to be negative.
You're kidding me. Sports/work/having a job is all about results. If I had a job where I never showed up and had questionable results I would be fired. I can't tell my boss, "hey, just be positive".

He's becoming more and more of a bust every single day. Sadly i would attribute that more to injury but it is what it is. We will never be able to rely on him.

You are a delusional idiot. Nobody ever proclaimed Arroyo god or anything special. He was just better than Dante at being PG, that's it.

Be patient. Don't rush the kid. Wait and see. He's not been able to enjoy on court continuity/chemistry. Kid oozes everythig that's good about basketball! And he's such a good character!!!

This injury delay sucks. We could really use him and could have used him last night especially guarding Westbrook.

Good news is even with a long injury history he can be healthy and get things going. Plenty of players do that. Previous injuries don't predict future injuries in the NBA necessarily. If they are recovered.

So get him healthy, identify his physical weaknesses, and do injury prevention work with him.

When he is healthy he is valuable. He is a great defender.

Sign up the mop kids for the team then. They have good chemistry, they hustle, have great character, and they spend just as much time on the court as Dante!

Lonzo Ball has the same injury and is being held out another couple of weeks. I doubt Stockton or Malone would still be out. They would say rub some dirt on it, give me a couple of aspirin and I'm good.

7 weeks for a sprained ankle. Why was the Jazz report starting at 2 weeks then to be re evaluated in 1 week? Either the Jazz have a ton of unwarranted optimism or a mediocre training staff.
I didn't want Conley. However at this point, trading Exum shouldnt be a hold up over any future trade.

Do you understand ankle sprains at all, Nate? They vary in severity. This is literally the first result on Google: https://drayerpt.com/blog/ankle-sprains-what-is-the-recovery-time/

Most bone bruises slowly heal over 2 to 4 months. I think he might just miss the rest of the season. Unreal and sad. Reminds me of how Penny Hardaway's career was derailed by knee and ankle injuries. Similar body types.
