Grayson Allen Apology Thread

CJ Miles was never a bust to anyone but Jazz fans that were enamored with the idea of giving him a really high potential ceiling. In other words, Miles was never a bust. He was Rodney Hood drafted out of high school. When the dude finally earned some PT he could go 7/9 fg with 3 3s. Then shoot 1/11.
The best thing about Miles was Troutbum's beef with him. If that had happened in today's day in age, @TroutBum would be looking at a lifetime ban.

Grayson, on the other hand, can't really be a bust to me. But since he was so damn good his sophomore year at Duke after coming out of nowhere to be their hero in their title run, he had high expectations.

This whole debate seems silly to me. Grayson Allen is what he is. He's a rookie that's capable of having is offense shine bright. He's also capable of disappearing and playing like a rookie. He struggles on defense and has been called out by Synder, but I don't think of this as he's never going to amount to anything. I'd be more surprised if he's out of the league in 5 years than if he stayed in the league 10 years.

I dondo really have an opinion on him. I'm not mad having him on the team and hope he flourishes.
Love me CJ. He was the but the FO choose Hayward as the golden child.

If someone told me Allen would score 40 ppt two months ago... I probably ignored him lol

You can tell DM is rooting for this dude.
Could Donovan Mitchell - Grayson Allen be Utah's future backcourt duo? Q needs to find out next season increasing Allen's PT.

16.8 ppg his last 5. Last night clearly helped but to those who have already labeled him a bust, it just shows how absolutely absurd it is to make a judgement on a rookie. This isn't me saying he'll be good, I'm just pointing out that it doesn't take an amazing basketball IQ to understand that a rookie is a rookie.

Can he get on the floor against Houston? Rockets would have to have a negative offensive player out there for him.

But we might be in dire need of an 8 point spark off the bench.

He wasn’t inefficient. He scored 40 on 30 shots, for 1.33 pps. That’s above league average and equivalent to Butler, Brogdan, Paul George, Jokic, Redick, and Millsap’s average pps. He was fine.

And a lot of those misses came late in the game when he was just trying to create offense out of absolutely nothing. Naz and Cavanaugh seem like great guys; but they're not NBA players. Jazz were basically playing 3 against 5 for huge parts of the game while LAC played their usual rotation for most of the game.

this x 100. this is the problem w/ only boxscore watching and making comments from that. he and georges were the only consistent offensive threats for most of the game other than the minutes that jae had. clips were keying in heavily on allen, and he was still getting to his spots, just missing some short shots from what looked like fatigue. and as you said, alot of his misses were late when he was trying to bail the team out when he was basically out there with the stars lineup. he also had 2 near half court heaves at the end of quarters that most guys wouldn't take to protect their FG%.
