Isn't this cherry picking a stat? The stock market soared once Trump was elected and through the first year. So it dipped a little bit right because it got so high. Aren't I correct on that?

Since this is a Jazz forum, let me use this Jazz related hypothetical. If the Jazz defense was allowing 105 points per game before Rudy and then gave up 90ppg with Rudy, that's an amazing improvement correct? Then if we allowed 91ppg under year 2 of Rudy, sure it's a % drop from the year before, but the ppg is still massively ahead of where we were before Rudy got here right?

In my scenario, Rudy is Trump and the 105ppg is what we allowed under Obama.
I think you can correlate Rudy's effect on defense more than you can Trump's effect on stock market.
Like I think we all would know that if Rudy got hurt the defense would drop off big time.
However if Trump decided to just play on Twitter all day and go golfing and not do any actual work or governing are we all sure that the stock market would crash? I'm not

Right. There is no perception that black neighborhoods are dangerous. There is no preference for white neighbors. None ever crossed the street upon seeing two black people walking down it. There isn't hundreds of years of history of painting black men as animal-like in their strength and horniness. People don't associate crime with blacks. There is no million other things I can list. I must have dreamed it all up.

That's how socialization works. You don't feel it happening. What you hear throughout your life slowly builds up your worldview.

I understand what you are trying to say and for much of that, I agree with what you are trying to say. However, I think your statement was pretty broad. Told to fear poor black communities? Yes. Told to fear all poor blacks? Not at all.

Society shouldn't come down to media or social media. Society comes down to parenting. I was raised in Alabama by a parent who told me to treat everybody with the same level of respect. Most don't see it this way, but I was blessed to have worked in many different levels in my life from cleaning dishes and banquet serving to facility management and higher education. When you stand there right next to somebody and you're both busting *** doing the job at hand, it doesn't matter what they look like because it shouldn't matter. I need to earn your respect whether I'm the busboy or I'm the boss.

white guilters are wimps.all races can be racist but the narrative has been only whites can be racist. look playing the victim card is not being a winner.every race has racists but it is being shoved down the white mans throat that they are privledged. grow a pair boys.im proud to be white as should every race. lets stop talking race, you are not african american you are american and most people treat people the way they want treated.i grew up poor as ****,went ton an all mexican school got called honkey and had to fight every day just for bring a white boy. im not a victim because i know who i am and nobody can make me feel bad for being white. Korver needs to open his eyes.

First off, that sucks that you were bullied in school. That is never cool or fun. I saw white kids in Hawaii that had similar experiences, called haoli crabs, and beaten up on the regular. It turned a paradise into a penal colony for them.

Second, the theory is that only whites can be racist because only whites have been in a position of cultural, economic, and legal superiority. Blacks and other people of color can be bigots, but not racists. I don't
like that theory (I think it triggers more animosity than it does enlightenment) but there it is.

Third, Kyle is not saying we should feel bad about ourselves because we are white, but rather that we should be aware of what others deal with and try to counter it. Your experience as a kid should help you be sensitive to what black and brown people face all the time. Wouldn't you have welcomed some of your classmates "calling off the dogs" that were fighting you?

Fourth, I think you have the right instinct. We should aim for and work towards a country in which the color of your skin doesn't matter. As you say, where we are all Americans, not hyphenated Americans. Interestingly I know an "African-American" guy that hates that term. He says, "I have never been to Africa, and have no connection to Africa. I'm American." People should be allowed to define themselves. If they want to be Italian-american, or Mexican-American, that's great, but no one should impose a label on anyone else.

#D.O.N. is the answer to all our challenges!

Wow.

Wtf.

Where are you getting this? Honestly, Im not trying to just screw with you. I have never heard or thought that black people are thought of as having animal like strength and horniness. Some of the things you say about racism I see what you mean, I just think its a lot smaller amount of people than its portrayed as. But animal like strength and horniness? Lmao. What the **** are you reading? Who would honestly think or believe blacks are any more horny than whites? This I am certain is not a wide spread subconscious or concious thought.

To me it seems like you are the one harbouring the most racist thoughts out of us here. You are severely off the deep end in propaganda and seem to actually have white guilt from being a real racist.

White privilege

Martin Luther King, Jr. Quote. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

Okay buddy. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Isn't this cherry picking a stat?.

You said the stock market has been great since inauguration 2 years ago and gave 1 year of data. That is cherry picking.

I provided the second year of data refuting your claim. That is providing evidence to complete the data set and disprove your claim. That is the opposite of cherry picking.

You are welcome

I think his point (and it's probably correct) is that the stock market has in fact been great since inauguration 2 years ago.

Just cause the stock market is less great in year 2 than year 1 doesn't mean year 2 isn't still great.

Right. There is no perception that black neighborhoods are dangerous. There is no preference for white neighbors.

I was house hunting and a realtor who was selling for a new community told that there were none of the wrong type of people in this neighborhood. She gave me a white person club look and said she could not say any more without getting in legal trouble. I told her it is too bad that I preferred living in a diverse community and would never buy from her. Gee I wonder if she would discriminate against a black buyer who would undermine her sales pitch.

I had a contractor tell me about his workers and contrasted them to his competitors who hire (phonetically) “hose A” (Jose) and “hose B”. This was part of his rehearsed pitch. I told him I would never hire s racist and showed him the door.

I have personally experienced hundreds of other stories like this. I guess it is possible to say “there is no racism” and not be a racist, but given the OVERWHELMING amount of evidence, I find it hard to believe.

“Less great” means both years were great, the first year was greater.

Losing 5% in year 2 is not great, it is bad.

Yep, everything I said and much more is common and mainstream. I mean, one quick look at our society, and the difference in outcomes between whites and blacks should be enough evidence to convince anyone. But nah, out of sight, out of mind, ya know. Now let me tell you about this one black person I'm friendly with...

Not necessarily.

If I made 10 millions dollars this year that would be great.
If next year I made 5% less than that then it would still be great.
However if I made 15,000 dollars the next year then that would be bad

Since the graphs did not work, let me use capitalized words.

STOCKS PERFORMED BETTER UNDER OBAMA THAN UNDER TRUMP.

Since the market went up 148% under Obama, I guess the Jazz defense would be awesome without Rudy?

Y’all need to stop reading Breitbart and just look at the numbers. These are just facts, there really is nothing to debate.

The market went down. That means people lost money, not that they made less money

Again. If I made 10 million this year and next year only made 9 million then that would be I lost money in relation to the previous still but it would still be pretty great.

Unless you are trying to tell me that no one made any money when you market went down which I know is untrue.

We are discussing market moves not personal finance.

And if we were talking about personal finance, people some people make money every year in history. Most stock investors lost money.

For example, I had short sales that payed off when the market fell in trump year 2. But most people who invest in stocks lose money when the market drops.

But all that is moot to this discussion.

For example I have money in the stock market. It continued to grow even during the 5% decrease you speak of. Just slower
