jazz pick up CJ's option

Confirmed: Jazz have picked up C.J. Miles' $3.7 million team option for the 2011-12 season.

Just tell him to stop shooting 3pt and drive & finish or drive & dish instead. If he can do that, he's a steal at $3.7m IMO.

Shaping up to be quite the position battle for the Jazz next season. Hayward, Miles, Burks all competing for time and shots.

He forgot to mention Bell? I vaguely remember that we were supposed to be thin at the wing before the draft. Now we're completely loaded in the wing as well as in the front court. It's amazing what a quality pick up in Burks can do (he can be our 3rd PG by the way).

Sign Watson for 2 more years and we're good to go!

If the Jazz were to make a deal, it would be for a SF. Picking up CJ's option may be good business sense, but I hope Ty uses him in a different role than to have him sit outside a chuck-up three-pointers.

I'd like to forget Bell.

I wonder if AK wanted more money then the Jazz were willing to pay, so they resigned Cj, because Ak does way more to help a team win games.

considering hayward plays 2, AK is the only SF left. So Cj should stay no matter what. I doubt he will find the playing time as much as last year though

This was a no brainer.

I agree, and yet this expression always perplexes me. It means that it's an obvious decision that could be made even without a brain, right? And yet, there are quite a few fans who were against picking up the option. Is it possible to have less than no brain?

Fire and Pain

Just yesterday morning they let me know you were’nt gone
CJ the plans they made should’ve put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember which wall to post it to

I've seen you on fire and I've felt each brick give me pain
I've seen sunny minutes that I hoped would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find you a friend
But I always hoped that I'd never see you again

Won't you look down on me, Jesus
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way

oh, I've seen you on fire and I've felt pain
I've seen sunny minutes that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find you a friend
But I always hoped that I'd never see you again

I’ve been walking my mind to an easy time
My back turned towards the ESA
Lord knows the cold wind blows constantly on your game
Well, there’s hours of time on the telephone line
To talk about trades to come
Sweet dreams and trade machines in pieces cuz of your name.

oh, I've seen you on fire and I've seen pain
I've seen sunny minutes that I hoped would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find you a friend
But I always hoped that I'd not see you, CJ, not one more time again, now

Dreamed I'd not see you one more time again
Hope just a few minutes coming your way this time around,
Dreamed I'd never see you, hoped I'd not see you on fire and pain, now
Daydreamed i'd never see you even just one more time on the court again.

Obvious move whether he gets dealt or not. If he stays, I think he'll be our best wing next year (which isn't saying a whole lot.)

I know they had to, I was just dreaming he would be gone.
I don't think I can go through another year of 41% 30%, and chucking.

Well it's between him and Hayward, right? I expect Hayward still has a solid learning curve ahead of him. Everyone remembers the last two weeks, and yet no one remembers he mixed bad games and good games in those two weeks. CJ's inconsistency issues are maddening, but if he was only tossing up one stinker to every 3 good games he'll have a really good year. So all in all, I expect CJ to have the better year, but it's not like I'm saying Hayward is going to play badly.

CJ's FG% and 3pt% have dropped every year so far. What makes you think it will go up this year? You really think he has it in him to suddenly get more consistent with average or good games?

I have heard AK is asking for four years/ $4.5 million per year. At that price the Jazz would be dumb not to bring him back regardless of the CJ situation.
