Jazz Exit Interviews

Well, if he can’t land someone this off season I say he needs to go.

If he does then he’s the man and beloved all over again.

Crappy place to be.
If he can't land anyone this off-season, I don't believe that's an indictment on him. What is, however, is not utilizing our resources previously... it's essentially Ingles passing up an open three, and now we're settling for a Rubio jumper... we're always pretending that the future is brighter and pass up on any move. I mean, just think... a couple years ago everyone was eyeballing this free agency with people like Klay, Kawhi, and Butler in mind. Then we dropped down to Middleton and Harris. Now possibly even maxing Brogdon. At the end of it, we'll be pretty elated if we land Jabari. The moral of the story is just because there are hypotheticals out there doesn't mean that they're realistic enough to start turning down good opportunities.

Essentially, DL is at the bar and a really cute girl asks him if he'd buy her a drink. He says no because he thinks maybe Sandra Bullock is the next person to walk through the door.

DL has had this talk before where he somewhat admits mistakes because of flexibility etc... during the cake bake year... can’t keep repeating these mistakes... it is the crap or get off the pot time.

Memphis: Hey, Dennis, we're not sure on the Conley trade. Can you give us a couple weeks?
DL: I'm flexible!

For the series the rockets shot 36.5% from three as a team... our best shooter in the series was Royce at 34.8% from three.

Go get some damn shooters DL.

After listening to Rubio's interview I think it's unlikely he's back next season.
Yup. He was gone after the deadline.

Can you imagine DL's pitching during the offseason?
- DL: "Hey Ricky, we believe in you and we think you are a big part of our team's future"
- Ricky: "You tried really hard to trade me for Conley"
-DL: *awkward silence*

Sandra Bullock... You had the whole world at your hands, and you chose to type.... Sandra Bullock. 90's version or today. Legit question.

If Dennis can't get this team better this offseason, he's got to go. We all want the Kemba, jrue, Conley's on the team and if he gets us Bayless or some other garbage vet to be our starting point guard it would be a huge step back. Kemba says making the playoffs is important to him. They cant even make the playoffs at all in the crappy east. He scored 45 points the last game of the year and went for 40 something against us also. They cant double him and donovan every play.

Ps. Jae needs to hit the gym and shoot 3s. It was horrible this year

Did Quin not do an interview this year or did I just miss it? He and Lindsey usually do these exit interviews together.

They shot 36.5% total, but I swear when it counted or when they needed momentum, they were shooting at least 50% on threes. When the game was out of reach in game 4, they throw up like 3-4 clankers.

It's funny you mention this, because I was searching for someone who'd be viewed as universally attractive, and I'm a little out of the pop culture game, so I even googled "most attractive people" and didn't like the results (didn't know a lot of them), and the people who a lot of people think are great I'm kinda 'meh' on, so I decided to go back a couple decades when I was more in the know, so she popped into my head. I knew she wasn't the top choice, but felt it was a more reasonable choice on the upper end of a DL spectrum.

I like this thread. The last time I posted regularly here I was criticized for being critical of DL.

I said that he got lucky with his two best moves: Gobert and Mitchell.

He could have drafted Gobert and Giannis. Instead he traded those picks for Trey Burke. It wasn’t until Sloan vouched for Gobert that we bought back into the first round and took Gobert.

As far as Mitchell goes, Denver called us, said we heard you like Mitchell, we like Lyles, wanna trade?

DL did say yes, so there is that.

Other than Sloan forcing Gobert on us and Denver wanting Lyles, DL has been terrible, and his biggest stain is Hayward. We could have four year maxed Hayward. DL said he wasn’t worth that, knowing the cap was jumping and Hayward’s “max” deal would be a little more than Rubio’s last deal.

Instead he allows Hayward to get his own deal, which was three years instead of four.

This allows Hayward to leave a year early to Boston. Imagine another year of Hayward with Gobert and Mitchell.

Then Hayward asks for a trade to Boston the summer before he is a FA. DL could have gotten a first round pick for Hayward.

He declines, Hayward walks for nothing.

But, no. No criticism for DL. Cake baking, metrics, asset gathering and other ******** euphemisms cause he makes us “feel good.”

DL’s problem is he thinks he is smarter than everybody else in the room. And he isn’t.

Big summer for DL. If you bomb this summer and Utah ends up 5-7 in the West and Gobert is not an all star, then you have to consider blowing it up again because Gobert wants to win. And you can’t risk losing Gobert for nothing.
