I'm Sensing Trading the 1st Round Pick for a Veteran

In terms of talent or in terms of salary? We’d be including draft picks.

Not sure, but they do it to cut salary (earlier), help a tank, and pick up assets for Conley.

How does the 2019 1st and any 2 of the Jazz, Wizards and Cavs 2nd round 2020 picks sound?

For Conley*

Sounds good to me. Not sure about Memphis. However, I’m pretty sure we traded the Wizards pick for Korver and I don’t believe we have a Cleveland pick.

Would be people be more shocked/disappointed in a trade for Love or a trade for... Hayward?

Hayward and it ain’t close.

Here’s what’s gonna happen... we exercise Favs option early on draft night and trade him and our pick for Conley... but it will be a three team deal...

Favs and 23 to Charlotte
Biyombo, Exum, #12 to Memphis
Conley to Utah

We can then use space to sign someone useful at MLE and at BAE money. Jamychal green, Rudy Gay, Danny green, Ariza, would all be candidates imo. Hope for some internal improvement and maybe we can take a step forward.

Not bad. I've been pitching a three team trade with Charlotte, Memphis and us for a while.

If Charlotte added Favors before free agency, it could be a good message by the Charlotte FO to Kemba.

Memphis has no reason to take on Exum when they now have Delon Wright who has been far better for them than X has ever been in Utah. Plus he's not ded, and he has a better contract.

Also, fortunately for the Grizz Chris Wallace is finally done as their GM, so unless Zach Kleiman turns out to be as mediocre and as poor of a decision maker as Wallace has been for 2 decades, you'd do well to assume that whatever trade was on the table before the deadline with Conley and Exum (plus Rubio and Favs or a 1st) is as good as gone now.

In reality, Jabari could really excel here. By all accounts he’s a likable teammate. He gets in a system where he’s immediately the number 2 option. Lots of positive vibes in the locker room, new perspective after being on a number of teams, and Quin getting more out of him offensively and defensively, he’s a legit MIP candidate.
I am in favor of Jabari, but not as the #2 option. His role would be an off the bench offensive spark, and maybe he could grow into a bigger role. Everyone knows he can score and is athletic, but he is also a really good passer. I think he would fit the Jazz offensive system well. He is not good on defense, but there have been a lot of forwards who are bad at defense and still valuable to the team (Harden, Boozer, Antawan Jamison, Amar'e Stoudemire). Worst case scenario, he is a rotation player. Best case scenario, he has a Zach Randolph type career (offensive efficiency improves, defense goes from terrible to decent when paired with elite center, and he ends up an all-star).

Conley, Donovan and Rudy would be a stellar big 3. We NEED this.

This is quite honestly one of the worst drafts I can ever remember. I know you really can't properly grade a draft until three years or so after, but Zion and Ja are the only two I see who could even have a shot at being an All-Star.

It sounds like the Jazz front office agrees with you.

I think it is a tough draft, but wasn't 2013 supposed to be bad and it produced some good players in the middle/late part of the draft. Giannis and Rudy... I think it is a tough draft to evaluate after those two, but I don't think it is any worse at the end of the 1st round than a normal draft.
