Would Rather have Brogdon since he fits the time line, getting better, elite shooter, big guard to defend not get exposed in playoffs... seems like a great fit in back court with Mitchell

Conley is good now but as we are seeing with CP3 and Lowry who are both having pretty lack luster playoff performances, Father Time is at his heels. It won't be long till his body starts climbing down from or falling off the cliff.

If you could figure out a way to get Tobias and Brogdon, I'd say you go for that. DM and Tobias along with Ingles Brogdon should be sufficient creation as long as defense remains elite. What is Brogdon's market this summer? We could carve out 45+ million in cap space without too much difficulty I would think. I'm not even sure what Tobias max would be per year though.

If you shed Favors, Exum, Rubio, Thabo, Udoh, Stretch Korver or he retires, that's over 50 Million in cap space fwiw

Honestly any of those guys you mentioned on the downward spiral is greater than anything we have since DWill. We sadly are beggars in Utah being in the destination that we are, we can't be pickers and choosers
 
The JNotes had an interesting article. Bricky, Neto, Korver, Ekpe, Thabo, Naz and Cavanaugh are likely not back. They thought Favors, Niang and Crowder would be.

- If we renounce or decline Rubio, Thabo, Favors, Udoh and Neto, we have around $33 million in cap space.
- If Korver retires, we would have around $40.
- If we dumped Exum without taking any salary back, we would have around $50 million in cap space.

Can we get Tobias AND Brogdon with that much money? Probably not, but doesn't make the numbers untrue.

He's only making $1.6 million, he has had an entire year learning the system, he plays hard, seems well liked and he can shoot. Unless his contract gets in the way of signing some max free agent type, I don't see why we would let Niang walk.

You don't know the numbers. If Jazz did whatever he offered to do, the cap space would be about 34 mil. Even if Neto and Niang were waived on top of that, it would be 37.6 mil. Not anywhere near "over 50 mil" like he foolishly claimed.

Your numbers are also intentionally over-inflated to make your point. And good luck getting pure cap deal for Exum.

The Salary Cap for 2019-20 will be $109 million (up $7 million from 18-19).
The Luxury Tax Limit will be $134 million (up $8 million from 18-19).

For 2019-20, here are the contracts:
Gobert $25
Ingles $12
Exum $9.6
Crowder $7.8
Korver $7.5 ($3.5 ETO)
Mitchell $3.6
Allen $2.5
Bradley $2
O'Neale $1.6 (team option - but not happening)
Niang $1.6 (team option - but we'll probably keep him)
Draft pick cap hold $2
Lowest Salary Realistically Possible: $77 Million (includes minimum salaries to meet full roster requirement)

Favors $16.9 (team option on 7/6/2019)
Neto $2 (team option on 7/6/2019)

These guys count against cap space until we either re-sign or renounce them
Rubio $22.5 cap hold
Thabo $6.8 cap hold
Udoh $4.4 cap hold

SO.... renounce the bottom three guys and renounce Favors and Neto. Keep Niang because we got to pay somebody anyway - so we're at $77 million. If Korver retires, we are at $70 million. If Exum was traded without a contract back, we would be at roughly $60 million. The cap is $109. So yes, we would have around $50 million in cap space.
