I love that they basically have announced the first 3 picks of the draft in mid-may. Tomorrow a report with come out that the Lakers have "zeroed in on Jarret Culver"

Lakers are going to look at moving their pick in a number of scenarios, especially for Anthony Davis. If they can trade for Davis on draft day, then they're in position to recruit someone like Kemba Walker in free agency. Then they'd be back in the top 2 or 3 teams in the WC.

They can't do it in that order. They need to match salary and I'm not even sure they can do that, but also if they trade for him now they don't have max space to sign Kemba and it isn't close enough to say "they will figure it out"

They could have just Lebron and AD on the roster and Deng's waive and stretch number plus 10 minimum capholds and are still like $4M short of a max.

They have to sign a max guy (which they will have to trade Wagner or Hart or move back in the draft to do) and then aggregate the salary to 75% of what AD makes to do the trade after signing Kemba… tough trade for LA to make happen.

Sometimes I wish the Mock drafts would list the shoe company and agent for each player rather than his college ppg. At this point the stats are almost meaningless compared to his ties.

I think it is a huge mistake for the NBA, instead of talking playoffs and All-NBA teams the chatter is aobut where players will sign and who will get drafted. The Boston Milwaukee series was more about where will Kyrie sign than the basketball, KD and Kawhi are still playing but there are as many headlines and rumours about his FA as there are about there performances.

A few guys I like below. I think all of these guys can make it in the league, though I'm worried about Okpala's inability to change speeds and PJ Washington's lack of explosiveness or motor to compensate.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker, 6'5.5", 6'9.5" wingspan -- He's about the size of Exum, except that he's got real skills.

Talen Horton-Tucker, 6'4", 235 lbs, 7'1.25" wingspan, 8'7" standing reach -- He's got big hands, comparable to most PFs. Still only 18 years old.

Mfiondu Kabengele, 6'10.25", 256 lbs, 7'3" wingspan, 9'1.5" standing reach -- comparable to Wendell Carter and Derrick Favors.

Louis King, 6'8", 195 lbs, 7'0.25" wingspan -- I thought he'd come out at 6'9"

PJ Washington, 6'8", 230 lbs, 7'2.25" wingspan, 8'10.5" standing reach

KZ Okpala, 6'9.5", 210 lbs, 7'1.75" wingspan -- I've been comparing him to Robert Horry at Alabama.

Darius Baley, 6'9", 208 lbs, 7'0" wingspan -- Good measurements. I thought Louis King would be bulkier than him. I'm curious to see how he does on the vertical jump and agility drills.

Jordan Nwora, 6'7.5", 220 lbs, 6'10.5" wingspan -- I think he's a real sleeper and a legit stretch 3/4. I would strongly consider him ahead of Hachimura.

Grant Williams, 6'7.5", 240 lbs, 6'9.75" wingspan, 8'8.5" standing reach -- He's pretty much a 4. Am curious to see how his shooting and ball skills progress. He plays hard.

Luka Samanic, 6'11", 227 lbs, 6'10.5" wingspan, 8'11" standing reach -- He's no longer skinny and looks like a promising mobile big. He needs to not get killed guarding on the perimeter. Think Jerebko.

He's going to be a bruising guard like a Lance Stephenson, except that he's better than Lance.

His body fat at 8.4% shows he can lose some weight. He could maybe get down to about 227 lbs or so and help his explosiveness.

Strange that now I see a +3 wingspan and think "not good enough".

Hoopshype's aggregate draft projections show Nwora as 45, but 4 of their mocks dont even list him as drafted..

Fwiw, Coltons draft compilation is by far superior.

I like that he can play in transition and play with pace. Our guys like Ingles and Crowder become less effective when the pace of play speeds up. Nwora is big enough to play at the 4. He's basically Gordon Hayward size.

He's definitely underrated. I think he should be getting evaluated side by side with Keldon Johnson from UK. Playing at Louisville, he didn't get the same air time as the premier SEC and ACC teams. I'd definitely take him ahead of the Tennessee guys.
