Non jazz 2019 playoff discussion.

I thought the cousins dunk/tip in should have counted.

And the refs should have given gasol some free throws there at the end.

Those two plays evened out I think

I agreed with the goal tend after I saw the overhead camera angle. It looked over the rim there.

The Gasol foul was so easy. Literally got hit in the head. Crazy.

Toronto had a chance. Bad execution.

Golden state legit shot amazing tonight and barely won. Toronto should "should" close this out Thursday.

Not sure why Toronto took a timeout near the end with Kawhi going nuclear and GS on the ropes. Why not keep it going and force Kerr to be the one to take the TO?

Toronto played pretty poorly. They had way too many turnovers and bricked way too many 3s. Siakam is basically Favors when he’s left wide open for a corner 3. Danny Green always seems to be a key player. When he knocks down 3s the teams he plays for are nearly unstoppable.

I still think TOR will win this thing but they screwed the pooch bigly the final three minutes.

When Kawhi can’t be stopped, you keep going to him. Simple common sense.

Durrant reportedly tore his Achilles. He's out 1 year? That really messes up free agency too. Crazy day.

I can’t imagine Durant won’t stay with the Warriors if he’s got a ruptured Achilles, which sucks.

I don't know about you, but I can always find it in myself to feel joy when a single event screws over both the Knicks and the Warriors. Even if it makes life a little more complicate for our Jazz.

Raps still might win , but Lowry was just horrible in the last 3 mins

Wide open 3 missed , then dribbling down the clock and throws it to no one ...

Things starting to get tighter for Toronto now , see if panic starts to set in.

When Steph made that big 3 and Serge has his head in his hands , he just knew

I dont think it effects free agency. I think basically every team in the nba will still give him a max deal this summer. He can choose where he wants to make max money

Pretty sad situation for KD. I'm not a fan, but I admire his willingness to give it a go. Sucks he got hurt last night. I was looking forward to seeing him in New York. That team needs a redemption. Would have been great to see him in his prime lead that team. I dont think he would have made them a contender, but he would have made them relevant.

This might give him a slightly better chance to stay at GS, but I still think he goes.

The Durant injury, in my opinion, is going to be a domino effect for free agency and one that potentially won't help us.

KD is basically going to be out for an entire year. Will the Knicks or Nets still give him a max contract knowing an entire year will be spent on the sidelines? Maybe, but I wouldn't consider it a sure thing either. Maybe KD's camp decides to let him opt in to another year of GS, eat their cap and limit their flexibility to help out his future team that will no doubt be decided under the table.

The only person I can really think of that came back from an Achilles and dominated was Wilkins. It's probably the worst injury you can suffer in basketball outside of falling on your neck.

I think KD's camp would be taking a massive risk if they took a 1 year deal. If he struggles in his recovery, he might not get a 4 year max elsewhere next summer.

I think he will consider the 5 year GS supermax now. He makes what $80+ million more there than he would anywhere else?

He could call it quits at 35 much richer than he could anywhere else over the next 5 years. And his legacy just took a weird turn. If they lose, he heals, and returns them to glory, that improves that legacy.

One thing's for sure, KD's taking the money wherever it is. If I was laying down a bet, it would still be that he bolts for New York or Brooklyn on a max deal and that respective GM officially starts not sleeping as well at night.

If Durant stays in GS that would push The Warriors well into the luxury tax, assuming they re-sign Thompson. Not a cap expert but I think that disqualifies them for any cap relief via the injury exception - that would open things up big time in the Western Conference.

But if they keep Curry, Klay, Iggy (last year of his deal), Draymond and KD, they could put minimum guys with that and still be the favorite.

Their regular season would be more of a grind without KD though...

Nah... Iggy is close to washes... KD won’t be KD at any point next year... they’d be paying a bajillion dollars in tax and wouldn’t be able to use other exceptions to fill in the roster... one or two key minimum guys can help... a roster of them won’t be great.

He will still get the max. Rudy Gay came back from Achilles and has been good. Matthews has been fine both guys on the downside of their careers.
